Real actors and film

I would really really love that the story wqs unfolded in video with real actors. Not cgi but real actors. It doesnt have to be famous actors. But it would be so incredible cool to be able to see the main characters of the plot being interviewed and such. It would really add to the whole feel of the game I think.

I really miss live acting in cut scenes in games. CGI is just not the same. I loved it in Command & Conquer and such. Wasnt there some in the Wing Commander games also?

I would even back the idea on kickstarter. I know its a huge task to get a whole cast of actors and every thing else required of movie making. But man would it be cool to have the happenings in ED unfolded by a real cast of actors.

Give Peter Jackson a call about it :)

Some of you must remember old game, Privateer 2 - Darkening from 1996. I loved video scenes there. Starring Clive Owen, before he became big name. I loved his style there. Also John Hurt, Jurgen Prochnow, David Warner, Brian Blessed and others... You can nowadays check those videos from here.

Something similar with Elite would be great. Though I'm not seeing it very realistic at the moment. Costly and would take time from more important aspects of improving game.

Had a similar thought a couple of days ago. But how far do you go. Perhaps have the story unfold on a news channel. CGI backdrops with real actors. Then you'd probably have to charge subs to pay for it. Worth a thought.

The cheesy FMVs is not something I miss from the 90's games :p

More seriously, it would just cost way too much. It doesn't even seem feasible given the dynamic nature of the game, the daily updates, etc.
