Real-Time Queue Boards

Was thinking about this one.. and is a potential solution to the issue of way too many people heading to Log Flumes, Tractors etc..

AND now that we have the screens in game - can we possibly get a trigger to make the screen a live queue time board?

The queue times exist in game
The screens to display them exist
The mechanism for quests to decide not to join a queue because of the length exists
So, can they be merged into one single but new feature?

A guest would "consult" a queue board and make a decision to head there based on the queue length.. or decide to go else-where if they are part way and the queue is then too long. (That last bit might be a stretch when it comes to balancing though).

Either way, it would be great (and a theme park sim game first) to have functional live queue time boards in our parks..

This has been brought up many many times

Even though this has been requested a few times, it doesnt seem necessary, the sign itself would not improve guest behavior, it would only confuse guests. If you place a sign in the front of your park for a ride in the back of your park, the sign will not matter or be accurate to the guests because the queue time will change by the time they get to the ride. If you place the sign closer to the ride then why would it be any different from the guests finding the queue time at the ride entrance?

Theres employees at every ride queue so they essentially tell the guests how long the wait is when they arrive at the queue. It would make no sense to tell the guests the length of the queue before they even arrive at the ride. It would only slow guests down causing them to stop and turn around before ever getting to their destinations

This is the kind of thing where you can make an imaginary sign (as many people do), but you probably cant program it to actually function correctly in the game, at least not in a way that its really worth the effort

There are other things that could improve guests behavior such as:
- allow some guests to explore randomly or just wander around enjoying scenery
- have guests taking pictures
- larger guest groups
- overflow queues for guests to bypass a section of empty queue when the line is short
- make guests better aware of their own wallet (if they are broke why do they keep going up to new rides?)
- improved ride prestige, financial systems, marketing, research etc

I still don't think this solves any problems, and it potentially creates new ones.

Agreed, from my limited experience with guest-behaviour it seems that adding new systems will not improve the current situation. The parameters that determine how guests react to certain things just need to be better balanced. Like, adding new coasters to the game won't improve the coaster builder. (Sorry, I just had to mention coasters again... [mad])
