Real world seepage

I was on the tube this morning - the central line to be exact - and the train sounded like a Sidewinder.
I was both thrilled and befuddled.
 
Funnily enough I found myself thinking along those lines when I put a surge of acceleration on the car - diesel - and it reminded me of the sidewinder noise...

Actually no it didn't. That is just a psychotic effect you get after racking up around 1,500 hours on the alpha.

After 3,000 hours all your colleagues and loved ones start sounding like Sidewinders as well.

I just tried to graze around my portly aunt in dizzying newtonian freefall.
 
Hah - last time I tinkered with cars was prob the 70's - the trusty old MKII Cortina.

These days the only way I know a service is due is when the windscreen washer bottle is empty..

I must admit to being a tad worried when I read the title of this thread.

Considering the age of a lot of the forumites, I thought it might be about embarrassing accidents in public.

At our age they're not accidents, they're our hobby.
