realistically, what do you think will be fixed before launch

For me I think we'll see....

1 - animation issues. Dinosaurs running too much, hunting behaviour etc. Doesn't seem that difficult to fix before release.

2 - Guest design. Again, simple fix to add some extra sprites or just change the shirt color so they look more varied.

3 - Terrain tools. I think these will be added before launch. Of the missing content, this seems the quickest and simplest to add. Long grass, sand and swamp as well as individual rocks and trees. It seems like they'd be fairly simple to add to the game. Think of the missing content, this is what Frontier will fix to placate people.

What I don't think we'll see

Day/night - they seem adamant on their individual time design choice
Killing jeep - too much extra programming

park cosmetics like trashcans, benches etc - they'll focus on enclosure cosmetics like rocks and trees

New attractions - Again seems like it will be too much work and programming before release to suddenly add jungle ride, river cruise,a bunch more shops etc.

Possibly see

Sandbox added - Seems the main thing people want. Dunno how hard it will be to add, but if it's not already included and Frontier are smart, this will be a priority for them.

I think if they add a sandbox mode they'll include a day/night cycle. It just makes sense and is easily implementable.

As a few people have already said, our dream is for Nublar to be a sandbox type island with Day/night cycle set in 1993 JP style :)

All your other points I agree with. I'd probably add things like fixes to grass poking through the paths and the camera bestinslot hates.

I would also LOVE a first person camera. Again, I can't see why they wouldn't add it when they have in PC.

Forgot about 1st person. That will be added I think, seems like it'd be simple enough to add.

Why do you think they will not add cosmetics to the park like statues or bins? There are quite a few people who have asked for it and it does not seem so complicated to introduce...

I know they will fix the clipping issues with the grass and plants clipping through paths. That just looks bad.

I believe the guests will get fixed. I know the guests are supposed to be based on whatever division you decide to go with. But seeing hordes of people in lab coats or uniforms just strolling around the park in human herds just looks wrong and bad. Michael Brookes said we will still get normal looking guests cause it's still a park. So maybe they don't want the Scientist guests to look like the normal guests. My suggestion is to fix the AI of guests of course and limit the number of these special division themed guests. I still doubt scientists would be strolling around a park in lab coats. It makes it look like they belong to a cult.

One other suggestion about the guest AI. have them stop by the fences and look at the Dinosaurs if they are in view. It would make it look like a real park. Some benches would be nice for this reason. No it doesn't make the viewing station useless. You can obviously see through the electric fences.

Also I would like to hear some guest noise, like some talking, laughing and so on. Maybe some surprise sounds like they are enjoying the Dinosaurs.

I imagine the day and night cycle thing will stay the same. They made the design choice to use a static time of the day and static lighting. I doubt they will change this late into the game cause it seems to be a major part of their artistic vision for the islands. We will just have to give it a shot. Like I said before I am not going to miss out on this game cause of it. This game won't be everything we hoped for cause frankly we all have some unrealistic demands. I do believe it will be a good game though.

Dinosaur and pre AI, this one needs some work. Spawning a carnivore in with herbivores should cause a panic response. Especially if they get too close. Now Carnivores should only hunt when they are hungry, But Herbivores should always be cautious and jumpy around the carnivores. I believe they will fix this.

Dinosaur animations. The way the Ceratosaur eats the goat just looks bad. It needs work. Of course I saw video of a Ceratosaur eating a scientist and it was pretty good, Not great but pretty good. It just needs some blood. I saw a video where a Cerato ate one of the Galli looking Dinosaurs and it also looked pretty good but could use some polish. The fighting between the Cerato and the Triceratops was ok but needs some work. I am sure these will be fixed before the game is released.

No blood or gore. I saw some blood in the fight between the Trike and the Cerato, but it was barely there. I don't think this will get fixed before release cause I believe this a deliberate design choice. Michael Brookes said they are shooting for a teen rating. Now I believe we should get a blood and gore DLC pack after launch. Just give us some bloody jaws and some meat chunks. We aren't asking to see guts spilling out. The Dinosaurs look so good that some increased blood like on the jaws would look pretty wild. I would love to see it. Like I said before just call it the novel blood and gore DLC.

The lack of a sandbox mode. I personally believe it's in the game it just needs to be unlocked. But if it really isn't in the game I suspect it will come as a DLC later on, maybe even free. Though I wouldn't mind throwing Frontier a few bucks for it. If I am wrong about it being in the game I doubt this issue will be fixed before launch.

Otherwise than that I suspect most of the reasonable requests will be answered with DLC later on down the line. Free or not. If they aren't in the game after launch.

Don’t do this, you’re just going to be setting yourself up for disappointment.

Before you can ask this, with frontier the better question is ‘what does frontier think should be fixed or changed before launch’. You see things as issues, but frontier usually doesn’t in moments like this.

I am pretty positive that they confirmed that the AI was more of a filler for the Demo. They were already planning on making it more diverse. The one thing I want fixed is the way the camera moves and the dinosaur clipping.

What about a sandbox mode WITH a day/night cycle? ;)

I covered them. Like I said before I don't even need the clock and the sun moving across the sky though that would be nice. They can just give us the lighting and let us choose what we want. That is what they should have done. Let us choose between the different static lighting types, sunrise, mid day, sunset and night.

Dinosaur AI will definitely be touched up before launch. I also expect some of the animation bugs we saw, like the Ceratosaurus attack animation failing to trigger properly, to be fixed before launch. Probably a load of other generic bug fixes as well, like foliage clipping into buildings and paths.

As far as new content goes, there is a slight chance we could see logs / rocks / other stuff added as part of the terraforming system, and we might see a couple more dinosaurs make it into launch depending on how many are ready (bringing the number above 40), but I don't think there will be much in the way of new stuff added.

That honestly would be my worst case scenario. The transition from sunset to darkness over the park would be one of the best things visually about the game for me.

A transitional day/night cycle would also allow for more features such as guests and workers disappearing at night.

Why do you think they will not add cosmetics to the park like statues or bins? There are quite a few people who have asked for it and it does not seem so complicated to introduce...

Because there's a lot which needs fixing. I think they'll prioritise animation, behaviour and glitches first, guest design and then terrain tools next since they seem to be the most obvious ones to fix and, the simplest fixes. Cosmetics I just think they'll prioritise dinosaur ones like rocks and individual trees rather than park cosmetics.

Plus designing a few static rocks/trees is much simpler than doing statues, fountains (and animating the water), trash cans (and programming them been filled/emptied), flags, lampposts, benches (and animating guests to sit on them), vending machines (and adding the programming for making money and guests using them etc)

I really can't see us getting visitor cosmetics until later on because for a lot of them, it seems more than a case of just adding an object to the game... they've got to also programme guest interactions with it. Non interactive ones like statues and information displays could be added, but I've just got a feeling they're not going to.
