Horizons Really annoyed at the horizons update

Why?

Because it seems that Elite Dangerous is skewed in favour of people who play it ALL THE TIME. When I BUY an update, I dont expect to have to keep roam about the galaxy trying to find a planetary something to make the update playable, thats just not on. Its a tactic to make people play MORE, when maybe they CANT. Some people do have important things they have to do and dont live in an elite dangerous universe.

I also havent got my promised 'midnight' paint job, and I cant get EITHER of these things even at Dalton Gateway, which according to the net is meant to have EVERYTHING.

So why do I have to play to get the results of an update I already PAID for? Who is making these silly decisions, like the one to reverse on kickstarter and make no offline version, someone seems to think they can do what the hell they like, and cause non enjoyment and ruin the game for everyone when they get time to play it.
Short sighted.

A very disappointed customer.

Cup of tea?

Yeah I bought in Beta 2014 expecting an offline mode. Unfortunately any online game is going to benefit those that play the most. Just like someone who completes an offline game in a week, its just that you don't necessarily notice. To be honest I play Mobius or Solo and ignore what other people are doing. As long as you are enjoying it right?

Not all planets are available to land but I'd imagine most systems have one and to be fair it is a game about roaming the galaxy....a bit.

Not sure about the Midnight paintjob, I saw mine available where i was stationed. Ticket to support maybe.

Are you sure you have downloaded Horizons 64 bit 2.0 update?

Are you sure you are not playing 1.5?

I only ask this because this happened to me last night when I downloaded the launcher and updated the game. Your launcher should be blue and not green like it was before.

say what?? is there actually a problem, or is this just yet another troll post?

idk what the isues is, are you saying u dont want to have to PLAY the game u payed for.. or?

btw: the black piant jobs are in there as promised, if not and ur entitled to them, just contact support ok?

I don't quite understand what exactly your problem is, aside from the missing paintjob - alltough what station you are at does not matter, as long the station has an outfitting. Paintjobs don't need to be bought at station, you have one its available in every outfitting screen.

But the rest is confusing, is your problem that you have to fly to a planet to actually land on a planet and so stuff on planet? Its really all a bit confusing, especially this line:
So why do I have to play to get the results of an update I already PAID for?
you want to get everything without even playing? Hm? What do you mean? Getting all ships without playing, being able to go to planets without the need to play and fly there?

In any Game I know, to access its content you have to pay and then play it.

Yes, that is what they are saying. I bought a package holiday last year, couldn't believe the cheek when they actually told me I had to travel there as well, unbelievable.

So why do I have to play to get the results of an update I already PAID for?

I'm pretty sure the OP is expressing irritation at having consumed an entire (limited) game session just trying to find a station that sold a Planetary Vehicle Hangar, without having found one.

Thing is, I haven't found them hard to find at all. I think orfeboy is likely on the right track: perhaps the OP has not actually installed Horizons yet.

I don't play the game much at the moment, don't have time.

I don't think you are being very fair. I BETA I undocked from the station I was in, after having fitted the relevent modules, and flew straight down to the world my station was orbiting. Then I went to buy some stuff, en route i stopped off at another station that was on a planet. That there was horizons content without even looking. The update is playable wherever you are, if you want to play all the update, expect to need more time. Same as the base game.

What are you expecting to need to play the game in order to get that you don't have now?

Maybe I was lucky yesterday, as all the modules were available at the station I started in. I would look for 'Hi-Tech' systems in the GalMap.
Paintjobs should be available. Go into 'Outfitting', and check it is there. You have to click on paint jobs (or something like that) and it will be there.
Why do you have to play? Well, you did by a game which if I'm not mistaken does involve playing.

It's amazing how simple things can really upset some people. :shrugs:

I'm not sure I understand the problem here.

You are saying that people that play more at a game shouldn't have more?
Or that since you can't play a lot you should have everything that other people have gained with playtime?

Could be, on the other hand, they are actually quite easy to miss visually, as I found out myself - and I knew they were there, so I'm double daft. And, let's not mention my initial confusion finding the SRVs.

OP you've got the Planetary Landing Suite fitted, right? You have space for the vehicle module on your ship? Don't worry, we will work this out - its almost certainly something simple.

...and don't mention offline mode unless you are really, really mad - otherwise you've got nowhere to go. ;)

The OP is online now, looking at this thread, and hasn't responded to any questions.
The OP signed up to the forum 8 days ago but brings in the issue of 'no offline mode' which has nothing to do with playing Horizons but is guaranteed to get people who are still unhappy about that agitated.

But, there's no need to go jumping to conclusions about this being a TROLL post.
It's probably someone just trying to give us something to do while the servers are being updated.

The only I thing I don't like about Horizons (and it is very minor for me) is that it is going to spread people out even more and make seeing people in game more rare. Before we had all those systems and just the star bases. Now on top of that there are a gazillions planets that people can now be on.

It is all very cool.. . I love it, but if you like to see people in game now and then, you are likely only going to see them when you partake in CG.

PVP definitely will get very hard to find PC targets! Rare indeed!

Orfe left before we realized two other people we play with had wasted a lot of time with the same problem. Laughter, tears, and apologies abounded for a long time in THAT Discord server!
