Really bizarre looking Coriolis starport

Came across this funny looking station the other day. I didn't know there were modified versions of the standard starport.

Yeah, there are a few of these around.
I believe they are under construction for a larger port being built, but not sure.

I was killed by one of the rotating pylon thingies early on in my game.

Those are the beginnings of the death ray for a fully functional death star. Trench and x-wings to be added in a future expansion.

I can only imagine the G-forces in the extremes of those arms....

The gravity must be brutal at the ends of those pylons.

That's actually the point of them. The arms are about the same radius as an orbis station, giving about 1g in the living quarters.

Saw this mad looking planet at Yurchikhin Port (Your Chicken!) Geras.

Stay clear of the damn flailing arms on those things, i lost my type 7 and 214 gold to one after i took a sharp turn on exit from the station.
That little error cost me 3 mil and change.

They are a wink to a type of station in Elite II Frontier.
