I have to say I'm quite looking forward to engineers.
When we saw the first screenshots of the "special effects" I wasn't at all keen and voiced my opinion as such probably because we had only a tiny piece of the puzzle and my imagination did the rest...lesson learned even at my age....but after yesterdays live stream I'm a lot more optimistic.
Will it be perfect? No. Will there be issues? Yes. Will there be bugs that make it into release? Yes.
BUT I think engineers, revised missions and the host of stuff they will be adding to 2.1 is a big step in the right direction.....we will know for sure soon enough.
I get there is a lot of skepticism about the random nature of mods, I'm not sure myself about it yet but I'm looking forward to giving it a try.
As for those that are asking for a total rethink on how crafting works, what we've seen represents over 6 months work and they are now ready to test.....it will not be abandoned no matter how much you scream. It may be tweaked, tuned, altered, revised, even parts of it scraped or added but what we saw in the live stream is what we are going to get, more or less.
