Horizons Really SLOW !!!!

My rig is a water cooled I7-6700K with a Titan card so I've invested in my tech, and I'm sitting behind 200mb fibre.

Firstly I'm getting sick to death of watching the little globe colour shifting when I actually get time to play as it takes an average of 10 seconds to display Missions, and then accepting a mission and then claiming my reward. All the while eating away at my TIME !

THAT'S TOO        ING LONG - is that EASY enough so anyone can understand it?

And this past week there’s been too many can't connect to server messages popping up on my triple monitors.

So today I've got a spare 30 minutes to run a few missions or kill some AI so I've opened up the Loader and wow there's an update. Clicked on it and the update is downloading at 0.14mb/s

There isn't a problem with my line as I've just completed some checks and everything is PERFECT.

Can someone tell me when your servers will be sorted ?

Click that little … oh you know what, learn to describe your problem without resorting to swearing or trying to impress anyone with your machinery.

Agreed. I have absolutely NO IDEA what the OP is going on about or asking for. [???]

There were some performance issues identified in the Beta regarding high end rigs, although I haven't run into any such issues myself either in the last Beta (7) and now the 2.2 official release.

Tested with both my standard GTX 980ti OC and my EVGA GTX1080 FTW OC and an i7 6700k overclocked to 4.6 Ghz.

As I found with the Betas of 2.2 and now the real 2.2. This is hands down the smoothest running, best performing version of Elite Dangerous I have ever used on my high end gaming PC.

Mid-High end rig. Reasonable internet speed. Fastest update yet and I got in as soon as it was announced so the servers must have been under strain. Or I'm just lucky this time.

56 Mbps download according to Ookla.

I'm like 87% sure it's your triple monitors causing server issues; just as well you mentioned that.

OK sorry I'm just fed up.

My rigs at 28 degrees tops out at 34 when playing Titan Fall, had it at 5ghz rock solid but backed off a bit as it's my main rig it just depends on your colling setup.

Ok ED fans stop teasing me with your new patch goodness as I can't download the bloody thing - now I'm getting Failed to read from response stream. Network connection closed. SOBS

Didn't swear I used         but still got edited !

All I want to do is blow      up !

4.6? Are you kidding? How hot is that running?

4.6 isn't that big a deal if you do the overclocking properly. I can get a stable 4.8ghz out of this same chip, but I really don't need to run it that fast to get great performance out of it. I settled on 4.6ghz because I could keep my voltage under spec. Its not running hot at all. I've got a Corsair closed loop cooler on it of course. Also using a Corsair 760t case which has really good airflow.

My CPU temps in ED average around 30-40c with momentary peaks near 50c with the usual 30-45% use this game tends to require running to my HDTV at 1080p 60hz, Super sampling at 1.5, Nvidia CP DSR set to 4x, and everything in game at Ultra.

I'm also running my voltage at 1.3 which most 6700ks can work with and still provide a decent overclock. No need to push that voltage above a safe 1.35 in my opinion. Too high a voltage is where a lot of people run into heat problems.

The OC was all done via the latest ASUS tuning suite software via my ASUS Z170 Deluxe Mobo. Some of this is down to the Silicon Lottery, of which this 6700 is a top performer, but its a great chip so most folks should be able to get 4.6ghz out of it in most cases. Definitely want to water cool it though. But something like the H100i v2 will be just fine.

Under full load with something like Lastlight benchmarking, it stays well under 75c, and never gets anywhere close to that hot in any actual games.

So all in all... The 6700k is a GREAT piece of kit! One of the most stable processors I have ever worked with.

And back to ED 2.2 and the OP.... I think you are going to be VERY pleased with this update once you manage to download it. I had been playing 2.1 the last few days, and the difference in overall performance is HUGE! SO much smoother now with none of that annoying hitching and stuttering most high end rigs encountered no matter what settings you used.

Frontier has hit this one out of the park and then some with 2.2! [up]

Hey no connection drop here. Im living near from Paris

For the 0.60mb, its because of the fact that i dont own the fibre yet :)

I coded huge Dabases and the Applications that run them, so the faster my rig is the more money I make as the less time I spend waiting for queries.
For some strange reason the Hex Core chips don't give you a vastly better speed ratio when using SQL Server - so sticking with my Quad.

Got 2 x 24" Monitors and then I've got my SuperWide screen 32" in the middle and still can't strees the Titan - well worth the outlay, and theres some good deals on ebay.

Anyone else cant connect to the update ?

Guys it would be great if you could please stop crying about your great connections

0.60Mb/sec here :):):):):):):)

I downloaded the 2.2 update about 2 hours ago using my pathetic 14 meg down rural DSL connection. The download took less than 20 minutes. I was a 2.2 Beta tester, so perhaps they recycled some of the files I already had on my machine?

Anyway... 14 down folks! You guys with 150 or 250 meg down that are waiting hours to get this file? No idea why that is happening, but I really don't think it has anything to do with Frontier's servers.

Well my connections good else I couldn't post here !

Did a speed test fine, downloaded a 1gb Databse file from Melbourne Australia in less then 5 minutes.

Played 2 rounds of Titan Fall.

So there IS NOTHING WRONG with my side.

Failed to read response stream. network connection Closed. when trying to get the patch !
