Really strange question for the VIVE users....

All,
I have a issue that i can not figure out what is causing it..
I like to record sessions in ED, however with the VIVE the screen display on the monitor is rotated app 10-15 deg to the left i.e. not the display window but the video it self, if I rotate the VIVE to the right the the video is correct...
I have tried to reset the room scale etc.... even if i recenter the VIVE it's still the same.

any ideas?

do you mean cause its showing your left eye?

That's odd. Sit up straight? :D

Han is probably right, its likely to be just the small offset the left eye viewpoint uses, which is what gets pumped to the monitor window... Field of view on the monitor window is also a lot more restricted, making it appear worse.

You're not in Kansas any more, Dorothy.

Yeah, recording a vr pov is tricky.
As it is right now what is being captured is mostly a 16:9 CROP of the left eye.
For some reason it's worse with the rift than vive.

Perhaps they are centered differently.
From what I can tell in the rift, what I see centered in the hmd, becomes basically the top right corner of the video, so yeah not great...

You could try the second window method but it costs a bit of performance.

Thanks.... this is what I meant.... off center and rotated 10-15 degs to the left, will play around with it a bit more

Might be the same with the vive haven't tested it in a while since I end up using the rift for ED.
So far if I look straight down my sights, the recording gives a very nice view of the sensor display and left info panel....

I have not found a fix except for the second window method, but it is a noticeable hit to performance.

Example recording?

I record sometimes, and I haven't noticed the above. I'm now wondering if I do have the problem and I did not notice?

Cheers. I don't know if I get that issue as much (?) My Vive sits a little crooked on my face, and is a little bit left-eye, but it doesn't seem as pronounced as yours. Maybe. I'm not sure, but you seem to just be looking left a lot

Well I didn't start recording that until my fourth pint, at least.
I do tend to tilt my head a bit when under the influence.

Edit:
Apparently that other word for the similar action gets caught by the filter.
