Really struggling without being able to see keyboard. No mouse cursor?

Well the immersion is there but I'm going back to 2d Elite because I am literally taking the headset off or lifting it up every 2 - 5 minutes.

The fix for me would be simple...just need a mouse cursor, then when I look at the nav menu etc to be able to click and scroll through that.

The mouse "kindof" works in stations but in VR is seems very buggy in the outfitting menus, you click an option and a lot of the time the cursor disappears and the menu locks up until I madly click the mouse again.

Even small things like having the cursor available to click Launch...it doesnt work when you go into the ship unless I am totally missing the obvious.

I can deal with taking the headset off for galaxy map but this is too much.

Has anyone got any pro tips? Can the mouse be enabled when flying?

I'm also happy to try voice attack but that doesnt fix the bugginess of the mouse in VR while in the outfitting menu.

Thanks :)

Are you playing with KB+M?

if so you're going to struggle. If you have a HOTAS you can bind a lot of the UI controls to the stick buttons to help you use the various panels. Still no good for text input, but there is a voice dictation workaround with voice attack out there.

Sorry yeah some more info I have an x-55.

Good idea I could bind that little nipple thing you're a genius!!!

I shall report back...love forums, you can rack your brains over something for hours, make a post and bam someone thinks of the obvious answer straight away lol.

everything you need to nav the gal map can be bound to the hotas. the only thing i ever need to do thats not bound to hotas is type in a system name. I use an X52 but I would imagine the X55 has the same layout as far as buttons are concerned. to get you started i'll advise you to bind gal map cursor movement to the throttle hat switch. I bound the "D" button on my throttle as a modifier for "translate up/down" so that when i push "D" + forward/backward on the throttle hat my cursor moves up/down instead of forward backward. next you'll want to bind your sticks hats to menu nav. that should get you started and remove all headaches from using the gal map :).. if you need further assistance feel free to ask.

Yeah, vr doesn't lend itself well to k/m.
Though with the vive you have the front camera, and I think it is only a matter of time before we see someone make a faint transparent overlay with it or similar, allowing you to see them, or maybe allows you to take pictures and model them into 3d space? a 3d overlay?
