Firstly, I think this was a one-off. But I'm curious what happened last night:
I played a bit pf Planet Coaster after downloading it - it was great btw! Then I slept my machine for a while, and when I came back to it I launched ED with all the usual settings.
Straight away I could tell something wasn't right. The posterisation was even worse than normal ( I could see the individual shades of the smoke when the ship gets too hot, and see them popping in and out as they faded away).
I docked, and when the missions board was up the judder was terrible. The board was almost unusable.
I then flew down to a planet surface, and saw really strange visual tearing, similar to when your vsync isn't turned on on a conventional monitor.
In the end I just decided to give up - it was making me feel ill, and was unplayable.
I'm sure a reboot would have fixed it, but I'm really curious what happened ? It's almost as if ½ of the graphics cores on my card just never woke up again.
