Reaserch on thargoid dance?

Looking to do some reaserch that is difficult to do by myself as I need more results data.
If you have a moment please do the following:
1) get 1 to 10 tons of meta alloy.
2) find thargoid interceptor.
3) take note when thargoid scans you and its reaction after.

Please also specify the following.
What ship are you flying?
What interceptor was it?
Was this in hyperdiction or in a NHSS?
Have you killed thargoids before?
Have you fed thargoids before?
Have you done the thargoid map puzzle before?
Have you got any ranks in elite?

Long story but an friend of mine learned something and I have struggled to work it out by myself. It may be a way to communicate with thargoids but he is too busy nose deep in guardian lore to do it so I try at it every now and then but not much success.
I have looked at various youtube videos to try discern what is and isn't but there isn't enough info.
Basically there is a "dance" thargoids interceptors do. I need more material on how to initiate this dance and how not to initiate it.
I have so far discovered (from own account and from youtube videos) for unkown triggers a thargoid will start spinning/dancing when they finish scanning you with meta alloy in your cargo.
This isn't new. Its rather old. Something we missed.
I've seen recent and old videos of people feeding thargoids and they do not do this dance.
I have also seen an old'ish video where a person fed a thargoid and it does dance.
Previously, long time ago, like 3 years ago, when I would feed a thargoid meta alloy it would not do the dance.
But now if a thargoid scanned me and I have meta alloys in my cargo it will begin dancing once its finished scanning.
This evening after work I'll get some videos off youtube to show this all as well... if I get time... go out myself and record some again.
The first step is to figure out how to make a thargoid start dancing. From info I have it gets a lot more difficult after that... my friend is probably going to get mad at me for revealing this info but I need more data and I need help.

The fast spinning is just what they do when they're opening a portal to jump away.
cough cough

So I had a lil free moment at work and got 2 videos
Video 1: no thargoid dance after scannning player

Video 2: thargoid dances after scanning player

Edit: i'll try get a nice video when I am at home

You mean the "backflip" ? When it does a full 360 right before it beams in the alloys?

It looks like some buggy behaviour to me rather than actual communication.
Probably related to the Thargoid trying to target alloys too close to your hull or maybe it tries to go away then detects free flying meta-alloys and spins around to get those, something like that.

I might also be entirely wrong ^^

I initially thought it a bug but then decided lets look into it deeper. Cause if it is a bug we need to report it to get fixed.
But its not a bug.
They also do the dance for me even if I haven't dropped the alloys.
Apologies I couldn't get footage last night as I was helping kumo crew bgs.
I'll try tonight. It may be very wobbly though as I am now playing in vr

What makes you so sure it isn't a bug? Just because they do it when there is no alloys? It was just a supposition from me, but if it is a bug as I think it is, it might have a whole lot of triggers, not necessarily linked to Meta-alloys if you say they also "dance" without it... But then, you only mentionned they were doing so while being fed meta-alloys in your first two posts, so if they also do it without alloys, then I don't understand your current method of "research" ^^

I initially and still think it is a bug because it would be far from the first bug left in the game for years, because in-game Thargoids have been plagued with many bugs specific to them, and mostly because when they were introduced in the game, the amount of players and failed tries to do anything else than "pew-pew" with Thargoids was massive, yet nothing turned out during actual real-life years...

Of course something might have been missed. But the probability of it being a bug is massively higher, just because of the sheer numbers.

Keep researching, but determining without the shadow of a doubt if this a bug or intended behaviour is the first and most important priority here.

I guess no one cares?
Like... people scream they want to hug thargoids and I am litterally feeding you the info to do so but noooooooo...
You all think this is WoW and since there isnt a thargoid with a big yellow "!" Above it you all just gave up on speaking to them.
Fdev said they would make them alien and give us a chance to deduce their comms. But no. No shiny quest giver from WoW so we'll just shoot them

Seeing as Thargoids aren't knocking on ya door with the barrel of their weapon there is time to communicate with them instead of blasting them all the time :)

I'm not sure that is the way to advance on this ^^

We're very far now from the "Have you listened to them?" golden age of this game, and the latest expansion has divided the community even more in my opinion, so there is bound to be a lot less attention.
That is even more true with theories that don't have much behind it like this one. No offense meant here, but so far we're not even sure if we talk about the same movements as the two videos you posted don't show much.
I'm not even on active duty anymore myself and just log in once or twice a month. Yet I keep an eye on these forums ( only the "Thargoids and Guardians" part ^^ ) much more often hoping for something new and intersting, like this thread ;) I'm sure others are doing the exact same thing.

So I really think that your idea isn't bad, and at this point, trying anything fresh is a gift ^^ I'm just saying that it needs to be "refined" , as in checking that this hasn't been tried or discussed yet, defining precisely the phenomenon using short videos showing only the "dance" part, listing what has been tried by yourself, what you can't try yourself, trying a few potential explanations or tests to be made, etc...

As I said, this is now an aging game and many things have been tried by many people during a long time, and most of those experimentations resulted in nothing. To bring back more people For Science , we need a heavy rock-solid theory. Most people, like me, convinced themselves that there isn't anything left to find, be it Thargoid discussion, Raxxla, or a new riddle on par with the past ones, and that the game is mostly "off" .

And I would be really happy to be wrong, so please, if you think you saw something new/yet unseen, do follow your instincts ;)

I'm still waiting for you to post a video of this "dance". All I've seen so far is a thargoid idling.

yea, i'd like a description for what op names as "dance", too

Observe, Document, Find Patterns (if any), try to confirm those Patterns
But with this attitude, you wont go far.

Also, if it's not a bug, maybe the they act differently because they're different? In the first movie you got a Cyclops.
In the last you got a Medusa (and the second interceptor looks like a Basilisk)

Sorry.
Lost my job last week and so I lost my patience and snapped.
Also my internet and power has been off so I have been unable to get the info on the dance.
So guess this is all a dead end.
Goodbye.
