Rebalance Shield Tank : Secondary Power Plant needed

If shield tank is a problem, here is an idea how to solve it beside the fact to nerf it :

If you get the best shield engineered prismatic shield with a lot of G5 Shield Boosters... you need so much power that you need a Secondary Power Plant module to generate sufficient energy to support that.
It could be a special module called Secondary Power Plant that can be equiped in Optional Internal. It'll only be needed if you want to G5 your Shield Boosters for example. Normal engineered A Power Plant will still be enought for G3 Shield Boosters.

This will reduce hull tanking as well as you have to make a choice between a Secondary Power Plant for maximum Shield and a Hull Reinforcement Package for maximum Hull Tanking. It will also make you a lot heavier.

If one of your Power Plant is destroyed or malfunction... you are in terrible trouble as you would have to quickly disable some Shield Boosters in order that your main Power Plant can supply all your modules.

If the main Power Plant is destroyed you have to click on Secondary Power Plant on modules tab and choose activate it as main Power Plant.... It requieres time to load, therefore you really needs your Hull Tank Reinforcement to protect you when it is the case.

It's just an idea. I'm not saying i'm all for that. I'm sure love my Shield/Hull Tank Anaconda for PvE, but PvP wise Shield Tank G5 rated can be beast...

Well it's just an idea to balance the game. What do you think guys about it ? Would it be a cool idea or do you really dislike it ?

Ultra-heavy shield tanking is only really practical on the big-3 ships and the FDL in the first place, though. They're all ships which can have a lot of spare power even with just an OC1 plant, and the big-3 will always get more use out of extra shields than one more HRP/MRP internal (and they have plenty of internals to spare), so it'd be pretty marginal.

The prismatic FDL would probably be made obsolete - but the biweave FDL is probably already (marginally) better for PvP anyway.

Explorers might like it, though - take a spare small plant so that they can use an AFMU to repair the primary plant.

Well, or set power priorities properly in the first place so that they automatically shut down without taking the rest of the ship with them.

Nice idea ! I didn't thought about it.

I opened an thread for it here

Some people opened thread recently to rebalance the game for shield and hull tanking. So this idea came up to me.

Maybe the big 3 ships needs rebalancing ?

As concerned i don't know, i always loved to have a big ship that could substain a lot of smaller ships for a long time (PvE) and a shorter time in PvP.
