You get it for free if you buy another game at GOG and there is currently a summer sale. So you wont have to spend much.

I bought Zeus+Poseidon myself for only a few bucks and received a code for Rebel Galaxy.

A good deal if you ask me.

And for those who really dont want to buy another game, its at 70% discount standalone for $6. The soundtrack alone is worth it. :D

Its pretty much Elite like, Combat is different and u use starports to jump to different systems, otherwise it hast most things Elite got.
Seems to have a nice story aswell.

Great game with horrible controls if you use anything other than gamepad. Last time I played, despite constant messages to the devs to fix it, the best they could do is reduce the mouse acceleration. It still felt wrong when you went into "aiming" mode. Coupled with the ridiculous ambush spawns, where the enemies appear out of nowhere in perfect circles around you, and you have a classic diamond in the rough game. Fun to play but you keep hitting things that are unpolished and annoying.

That said I would welcome a sequel if they did the PC version actual justice this time around.

Actually i play most games with gamepad on PC anyway and so i had no issues with controls in Rebel Galaxy. However the Game is rather short. I would say you only need to play 20-25 houts to have the best ship with maxed weapons and through the story.
Hint get mining lasers as turret weapon, there is only that NPC only drop Laser better. Most other weapons seem to be pointless. Maybe some flak one might be ok for the start and heat seeker missels as secondary.
I only did missions for money making and sold the scavened things. Most of the time freight containers offer equipment that sells for big money too.
Later with Blackgate ship you dont have to do much anymore, only when NPC Dreadnaughts are present u need to fire a few broadsites.

Well i did buy the Dig and Hacknet Labyrints DLC and got this game for free.

Agreed but that's the same argument made about a lot of games. "I got the best ship in the game it was easy". :p

I've actually seen people say that too when discussing a game that some players were finding too hard. People huh.....
