Recalculate route economical and fastest - not working

Does this work for anyone? On Galaxy Map, after changing route type between Economical and Fastest and then hitting Recalculate Route - the new route type is not picked up by the planner. For example, type is set to Fastest. I change it to Economical and hit Recalculate Route and the planner doesn't change the route to economical, in fact the route doesn't change at all. It thinks it's still set to Fastest. Vice versa it (doesn't) work the same.

yes, i have had some issues with this as well

i messed with it for a while and finally got it to stick to what i like using ... fuel stars and 70 ly jumps so, im not touching anymore

The route planning is screwed up. One wrong click and something unwanted happens. Recalculations are not triggered or have to be confirmed manually. The filters are confusing. I don't think the one-click solution is optimal.

Since update 5, I think, plotting route is super wonky. It default to nothing all the time, and it takes a while to plot anything. Even 1jump route takes 1-2s.

I think they messed up something when they reworked the UI for the patch.

I didn't know there was a "recalculate" button - I've been cancelling the route and re-plotting, which seems to work fine....

Edit: I do sometimes wish for a "best of both" route, something that aims for 2/3rds max jump distance (I feel that would be the most economical on a time vs fuel scale)!

If we're already on the point of making a wish, then I would like to have implemented the Spansh NS route planner in the game.

Galaxy map is a buggy UX mess right now. There are lots of things wrong/broken such as route plotting, too easy to miss click, copy target name not always working, odd behaviors transitioning from fleet carrier galaxy map and ship galaxy map, etc.

I'm just going to say something really stupid here, but since it hasn't been stated anywhere: is the trip 1K LY or shorter?

Also, yes, it's even more annoying at times than in Horizons. What specifically has urinated me off all these years is that you can plan a 200 jump trip, not deviate an inch from the set route, yet the next session it's suddenly incapable of replotting the route. You'll need to change the filters and keep replotting it until it sticks, then a few jumps later you can switch back to your old configuration and suddenly it'll work again.

FDev adopting third party functionality, both as an hommage and because it makes a lot of damn sense? That's the grandest wish of all.

Yep and, in my case, the route plotting filter reset everytime I leave the galaxy map so if I want the game to plot route using AFK stars it'll work one time and reset next time I plot a route...
