Newcomer / Intro Recall ship when using taxi to another station

Scenario: I disembark from my ship at a station and then take a taxi to another station. How do i get my ship i left behind in hangar to the station i am now at, similar to regular ship transfers in ships management?

You need to take a taxi to a station that has a shipyard and transfer it using Inter Astra (which works the same as the regular shipyard transfer)

I was on a mission, I took my ship to the required station, landed nearby and drove my SRV the rest of the way. I was walking around looking at different things before I took action. NPC's gave me the usual "What do you want?", "Quit bugging me." friendly banter. I accidently drew my gun (not firing mind you) and they all started shooting at me. BONK I'm dead.
Space Rangers picked up my body, put me in a stasis pod, and mailed me off to the nearest penal ship. I wake up, pay 30k credits for a long haul shuttle back to my original location. I get dropped off, and my ship is gone (It's still on planet according to the System Map). I'll check the station's computer.... nothing. I'll get a shuttle off... there's no shuttle service. I'm stuck on planet with out access to my ships or a shuttle to get off. I can't even stow away on the occasional supply ship that lands there.
Ultimately I had to die again, get my corpsicle sent to a larger station, visit the NPC that sells ships and they will transfer my ship to my location (for a fee of course).

Oh dear, i sympathize. But there is an option while on foot in the radial menu to get picked up by a taxi no matter where you are, next time you can choose that one.

If you mean this as the radial menu I don't see that selection. Although, right now my ship was just dismissed.

No, this is not the correct radial menu.
This one is a "quick item wheel" menu

There is another radial menu which is an equivalent to the lap and side panels in the ship. I can't check in game right now, but I think it's called "Insight hub" or something stupid like that. Check the on-foot controls, the mode switches section. You also have to bind direction keys so you can move inside it.
Then on the left side of that wheel you can scroll through options, one of which is "call taxi" and another is "recall ship".

Honestly the on-foot menus are a tragic mess and against all ergonomy logic.

:DAh ha! The Insight Hub. I notice that you need to hold your keybind down a second for it to completely draw. Then use movement or arrow keys to move to selection. The ghosted icon is the one I needed (You can't use it in a dock, hence the ghosting).
