Recommendation: Keep expanding on the Sirius storyline

This post is an appeal to Frontier to highlight the potential they have created with the Sirius Corporation story. I believe the stage is set for Frontier to build upon this story over time, and for the faction to take a more active role in the game. Since the launch of Elite Dangerous the lore for the corporation has been quite extensive, and they are becoming a larger part of the narrative than ever before. Through Galnet articles, tourist beacons, and codex entries, Frontier have explained in detail how the Sirius Corporation operates, from its governmental division, Sirius Gov and Sirius Navy, as well as their many subsidiary companies. The company makes many of the item's players use every day, from FSD's to Powerplants, to new pre-engineered modules created during community events, and is even responsible for expanding humanity to new star systems such as Sothis and Ceos. Now Sirius is becoming involved in the Thargoid war in its defense pact with the Alliance, helping to create a new Alliance Navy, amid rumors of shady backroom deals. The one thing I would caution against is turning Sirius into the next Azimuth, which was specifically introduced to the story to play the part of the villain. They haven't gone anywhere and can continue to play the part of the villain for years to come. It wouldn't make any real sense for Sirius to use the kind of nefarious tactics employed by Salvation. Azimuth as a company is focused exclusively on Xeno Research and weapon development, whereas Sirius has so many other business interests throughout the galaxy, no amount of new tech would be worth antagonizing the galactic community. This wouldn't mean they could do no wrong, every faction in the game has dark sides to it, from Imperial Slavery to Federal oppression, and the Alliance allowing dictatorships as members, but I believe it would be a lost opportunity to take the story in the same direction as Salvation. Galnet articles have floated the idea of Sirius becoming the next superpower. Most players would be excited to see a new superpower emerge, even if it's one they will actively oppose. Sirius already has a large amount of support and opposition alike from the player base. Players have supported the various minor factions under the Sirius banner, actively support Li Yong-Rui in Power Play, have participated in several community goals sponsored by Sirius over the years, and have even created player minor factions based on supporting the mega-corp. Just as Aegis, Colonia, and the Marlinist Colonies more recently brought players together and created unique bonds, so too could Sirius. I started playing when Elite released on the PlayStation 4, and instantly became a fan. Of all the games I have played, none have captured my imagination, or broadened my horizons as much as Elite. I began flying missions in a Type-7 out of the Procyon system a few months into the game, trying to earn my permit to their home system. There I met a Cmdr Netflix-And-Kill and sent him an o7. As it happens, he was trying to do the same thing I was. I sent him a friend request, and together we went from Type-7's to Kraits to Anacondas, and eventually Corvettes and Cutters respectively, and Patterson Enterprise became our home base. Nearly 7 years later we still fly together almost every week and have become true friends, playing dozens of different games. If this faction can have that kind of impact on two people, I can only imagine the possibilities for the community. Here's what I would like to see going forward: Over time, Sirius tries to leverage its defense pact with the Alliance to boost its own status. Helping to create an Alliance Navy would go a long way to showcasing what the corporation is capable of, and perhaps entice smaller governments like the Marlinists to sign agreements with them. Even if the defensive pact ultimately falls apart, it wouldn't spell the end of possible AX operations. If Aegis, or an Aegis equivalent, is reformed, Sirius Gov could become an active member along with any other groups who may join. All of these things would legitimize Sirius Gov and propel them towards outright superpower status.

At least LYR's storyline continues to be expanded through Galnet and community goals. Pranav Antal has been unfairly forgotten by the developers for already two years. In my honest opinion, there shouldn't be a 100% "good" faction. Each of the powerplay factions has its own way of seeing the world, and while they all seem well-intentioned, they can all be criticized for different reasons: it is up to each commander to decide which one prefers. As you said, every faction has dark sides. If we all clearly saw which is the "good" powerplay faction, there would be no point in the existence of powerplay itself or alternative factions.

I accept this forum post as legitimate and deemed worthy of the follow. I am visiting the post from OP link in the almost abandoned Discord.gg/SiriusGov, and this post has no further reactions that are maintaining the idea implied by the post or the overall player base associated with the ideas laid down, unless it's already taken into account by the dev that follows these things...IDK, but is there a year gone by without some others actually responding to OP's request of acknowledgement of this relative point made here?
