recommendations for python loadout

I just recently got back into the game, had stopped for a while. I had forgot how much fun it is, right now i have a asp explorer but i am very close to getting a python, i was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a good weapon loadout for it? eventually i want to work up to a anaconda but for now a python will work for me. i also have a cobra mk iii and a sidewinder. Got elite the first day it was available on the xbox GPP. i am looking forward to horizons and also think the multi crew ships and fighters launched from ships additions will be cool. anyway was just hoping to get some advice

thanks

When I had the python my loadout was 3 E3 pulse lasers and 2 medium multi turrets, I think I was running 4 A rated shield boosters too

3 fixed large pulse
2 gimballed kinetic weapons of choice
Prismatic shields
1 x A shield booster
3 x heatsinks (4x heatsink when 1.6 drops)
2 x 6a scb
2 x 5a scb

Once engineers is out the build will change drastically, but this will work for 1.5/1.6. Rail guns are also an optional choice for the mediums, and fixed kinetics if you're feeling bold.

It really depends what you want it to do and what your budget is.

Try dropping the shield down to a 5A prismatic and using the 6 slot for another 6A SCB. You also wouldn't need to go 4 sinks after 1.6 if you do that.

On my Corvette I use the 3 7 slot's for SCB's and have a 6A prismatic shield.

Yeah all depends on what you're using it for. Right now I'm using her for simple trade runs of imperial slaves. On occasion I'll still get interdicted especially since I'm hostile in the systems I trade in. So I was looking for the best defence loadout. Just started using 3 large pulse, and 2 med missile launchers. And boy does she pack a punch. You don't get a ton of ammo with the missiles, but for defence it works great as I can unload as much as I can to take them out fast, then reload once I get back. Using this setup for bounty hunting wouldn't be ideal though. Ammo just doesn't last. Maybe some gimballed cannons targeted on that power plant. I use my vulture mainly for bounty hunting with one beam laser, and careful use and targeting of a gimballed cannon on that power plant after their shields go down using only one or two shots for each kill, sometimes no cannon and just the beam, and I can sit in that res site all day long without having to go back and reload. I'm considering trying something like this with the pythin, but just not ideal ship for that. Probly try it once I get around to the fdlance.

I also messed around with the pacifier frag cannons. 3 large of those with a couple med beam lasers. And that was nice too for bounty hunting for a lil bit. Takes that hull down real quick and you get a fair amount of ammo. But the pacifier cannons are only available with Hudson after 4 weeks with rank 2 iirc. But yeah they're sweet.

I have played around with various combinations on my Python. Currently I have two large pulses up top, two medium bursts and a large plasma under the nose. Anything more than pulse on the large drains the capacitor too quick and builds up too much heat I find. You can get away with medium bursts and they give slightly better damage than pulse. I use that for all small ships, which is more than enough, and bring in the plasma for larger ships. I find it kills pretty quick and by limiting the use of the plasma time spent restocking is kept down, the downside when I used two medium multi cannons. When the update hits my intention is to swap the plasma for a laser (not sure which yet) and swap the two large pulse up top for two large multi cannons. That should be a loadout to be feared.

The Python is an very flexible multiroler, you can do whatever you want with it. Its great at PVE, PVP, mining, trading, pirating, smuggling, doing missions from the BB, assasinations.. even exploration would be possible to a degree.. so a decent setup would depend on what your plans are.

thanks everyone for the suggestions, i want to do little bit of everything but mainly trading/smuggling, bb missions. i am getting closer i have 44 mil credits now.

Just remember that outfitting is gonna be way more expensive than the smaller ships. A 7a power plant is 51 mil. But you can get away with lower rates items like a 7d. Because for trading and bb missions, you wanna be fairly light to increase that laden jump range. And you don't need a kitted out python for trading. Some good weapons. Decent shield maybe. I run a 3a shield and that's enough to last while I run away from pirates. Lots of d rates items to start with and you should be golden. So I would save up a little more though. A stock python really sucks. And don't forget insurance. Even with mostly d rated items on mine, insurance is 3+ million...

Late to the party but 3 large frag and 2 med beam, you seriously wouldn't need more that 2 6b SCB, or 2 5a even. Both is just silly.
