Recommendations to get to Beagle Point

I've seen a couple of commanders planning trips to Beagle Point and being a bit concerned about jump ranges and jumponium needed. Having recently completed Distant Worlds in an Asp Explorer that many would consider to have a short jump range, 27.95Ly, I feel I've got a slightly different perspective that could be helpful. IMO, the shorter jump range reveals things a longer jump range hides.

I was able to navigate to Ceeckia QJ-P c22-0 from the bubble, without needing any jumponium. That's only five jumps from Beagle Point, and only two of those needed a basic boost. In other words, my 27.95Ly range Asp got from the bubble to Beagle Point using only two basic boosts.

What my shorter range revealed to me was that the galactic arm before Beagle Point splits into two about 1000Ly before you get there. My recommendation after the Roncevaux Crossing is to tend to the *outer* edge of the galactic arm and aim for Ceeckia UY-G b44-0. From there you should be able to travel in more-or-less a direct line to Ceeckia QJ-P c22-0 and from there to Beagle Point.

The only general tips I have would be to expect to only be able to plot short range courses of 100-200Ly, and to remember that when you hover your mouse over a star, all the stars within your jump range of that star get that little orange semi-circle 'hat' over them. That makes it a bit easier to find a navigable path through sparse areas.
