Recommended Python All Purpose Loadout?

Greetings Commanders,

I'm slowly trading and fighting my way to a Python. I want one ship for doing it all - Lurking around RES / bounty hunting, trading and a bit of sight seeing...

So now I would like to know from the expert commanders between us if my thoughts about an allround setup like this would be decent at all:

I emphasized on all-purpose, maximum shields and light bulkheads for jump range - That fuel scoop is optional when I decide to wander off the inhabitated areas only.
Regarding weapons I think one C3 beam in the middle and two C3 pulse on the sides should be sufficient and power effective enough to melt most things in no time, right? I added two C2 cannons for smashing subsystems.

I keep reading sensor rating does have an impact on gimalled weapons performance... True? If not, I'd go for 6D instead of 6A.

What do you think? :)

There isn't anything like "all purpose".
You'll end up with something bad at trading, fighting, everything else.

Sensor rating does nothing for the accuracy of gimbled weapons it only affects the range at which you can lock on. This has been stated by Mike Evans, not sure where but I have seen it quoted elsewhere.

As others have said if you try to do everything on one loadout you will only get OK performance. I usually change my loadout for what I am doing at the moment. I would personally drop a couple of shield boosters and add a KWS and point defences but that's just a personal choice

I switch up my internals depending on what I want to do: full load of hull reinforcement and shield cells if I'm tanking, lighter shield and full cargo if I'm hauling, repair module, big fuel scoop and all the scanners if I'm going into the black. Buy and sell what you need when you need it, you have the versatility to specialize as and when you need to.

Here ya go:

Has anyone tried 3x Large Gimballed Cannon? Python seems like the right ship for it.

Fine against NPC. You'll need some time to get rid of the shields and then you shred their subsystems with ease, 3 cannons can almost one-hit an Anaconda power plant if you get a good shot.

But it's rather bad in PvP encounters: My experience is more like this:
1) outtank them while you try to get a firing angle
2) get rid of their shields fast due to your superior firepower
3) watch them escape

You will not be able to follow + being inaccurate at range (slow bullet speed + gimballed) thus rendering the cannons kinda useless. They flee when you would use them and you can't prevent that. Except the Anaconda, but 2 medium pulse against a combat ready Anaconda (ton of boosters+cells) is usually not enough.

I do not run cannons or even multis at all when I go into PvP combat zones. In a Python it's all about burning their shields. 95%+ of people run instantly, so I have no use for hull crushers.

Alright, thanks a lot for the input, fellow Cmdrs! :)

I think I'll adjust my loadout a bit thanks to all your suggestions. I see that there really is no true all purpose loadout and that the dear Python needs to be reconfigured depending on the mission...

So far I will stick to Solo Play until my dear Python is kitted out, and I am not sure if I should stick with the C2 Gimballed Cannons on the medium hardpoints... Are C2 Turreted Pulse Lasers any good when, let's say, a pesky Eagle or Vulture kites around?

Anybody know where I can pick up an A6 Shield Generator, there was one in Gende but now I've earned enough to buy it. it's gone

Do, or do not, there is no try.
reoutfit depending on what you're doing.
if trading outfit for trading drop the shield down and maximize range / cargo depending on your route
if bounty hunting beef up the shield, run SCBs, upgrade the thrusters, tack on a KWS distributor ect.
conflict zone? Ditch the KWS have larger ammo capacity weapons or do away with ballistics all together.
pvp depends a lot more on your role as pirate or hunter and what your prey is.
why have a ship good at everything but master of none when you can master any single role?

OP, I'm still fairly new to the Python Owners' Club (~week) but totally agree with this. No such thing as do-everything-properly loadout. But if I'm honest, I wouldn't even want to have it any other way, the Python is epic!
