Recording gameplay video - Rift CV1

Hey all.
Any tips for recording gameplay video? Currently I use Nvidia Shadowplay. Once I'm in ED, I go to graphic options and set the external to max res and full screen.
Obviously the quality is pretty poor.
I want to start doing videos for YouTube, but want the best quality.
See my latest video to see what I mean.

Any tips greatly appreciated.

Pretty much what I do.

Only thing I can think off is to add music. There's some readily available free (Creative Commons) music out there. Most of what I use is from Kevin MacLeod's collection at Incomptech.

Here's one of my vids with music. This is pre Oculus 1.3, so vid quality is worse than what you'd see now.

Try OBS Studio, I'm new to it, but it works well. I streamed some stuff on facebook for test.

Only issue in Elite dangerous is the ingame window with a tight FOV like a cinematography 50mm lens.
Best would be without Oculus Rift.

But once you have good content the quality can be in second place.

just remember to set up the resolution before recording

Thanks for the responses guys.
I'll try putting some more videos together over the next couple of weeks and see how things go.

Fly safe.

For me, ED requires to re-setup screen res and full screen every time I launch ED. I usually forget this, and when I want to save recent 5 mins (e.g. for bug reporting), it doesn't work. Funny thing is that FDEV asks for footage before getting active at all, no matter how detailed and reproducible you describe a bug, and then they don't give any aids to help creating such footage....

When I forget this, I just crop in. I think the default window is essentially 720p. Hopefully the video editor you use can handle a crop and pan to center and size it properly.

Here, it simply doesn't record then. Or simetimes I get something like 4 seconds of footage instead 5 mins. Only works in full screen for me. :(
