Recovery Settlements loot reset NOT working.

Now I do know the importance of using Third party assets to do things in Elite D. Now in Odyssey it is also important too. I found the site DCoH that helps you find systems in a state of recovery. The only issue is not enough players are fighting the Thargoids to cause more systems to be in this state, I guess? Not sure how this system works. ATM there are only two systems in recovery, and they are at 78%. Now I was going through them to get some easy loot mats for engineer unlocks and first set of upgrades. I attempted to do the settlement reset. Like the guy in the video, I watched. Well, somewhere within the past 8 months Frontier has patched that reset glitch.
It does NOT work anymore.
Also, I am not sure how long it takes for loot to reappear.
Don't waste any time on them for now if you don't beat another player there. YOU'RE OUT OF LUCK!
Everything will be gone.
Now the station settlement will seem as if no one has been there. But once you go looking around. There will be empty cabinets and nothing to pick up just laying around.
IF and I mane IF this is the case.
People we need to let Frontier know. We are the people who paid for content. Stop playing for a month and give them a reason to fix this stuff. IF they even know how. They fixed the reset glitch. So, they knew how to fix that.
I do enjoy the game even with the problems. But if they are going to kneff it into the ground continually. It is just now worth our time to be honest.
Let it go.
This new update they just announced better be AMAZING! Also, hopefully they started to listen to us for a change......maybe......hopefully......possibly? We will see. :|

Unless something has changed all you gotta do is get back in you're ship and jump into sc for a little bit and return. If that's not working then yeah something is up.
I tried it at 3 different settlements and settlement was reset but NO LOOT to grab.

Why can't anyone ever just ask how it works rather than having a rant? Kids eh ...
I am probably older that you bro. Born in 1973. I watched the video 3 times to make sure I understood what he was doing to reset the settlement. Still didn't work for me.

I wouldn't assume you are older than anybody here, many people here played the original game when they were teenagers and that came out in 1984 while you were still in short pants.

You need to go to a system in Recovery with more than 1 week left, preferably more than 2, with Abandoned Odyssey settlements. It's easy to mistakenly go to a Recovery system with some abandoned settlements that are either not Odyssey settlements or not abandoned anymore (hence the more than 1 week) even tho other settlements in the system are still abandoned. I did that the first few times, assuming that ALL settlements would be abandoned just because 1 settlement is or that the system was still marked as abandoned because the Thursday tick hadn't reset it's status. Check the star map when you are in system, or your left panel; either will tell you if your target settlement is abandoned still.

If you mean you've been there, looted and tried again after a relog, that won't work. You must enter supercruise for the settlement to reset; no relog required.

I admit, I've not really looked in a few weeks, but AFAIK, there have not been any settlements that hit all the requirements in a couple of weeks or so?

If you've satisfied all the above requirements, then yes, something is up, but honestly I'd double check everything first.

EDIT - Just been to the Aowicha system, looted Fraser Settlement, hit supercruise and landed again. All reset, as per usual. Plenty of abandoned settlements in Aowicha this week. @Sandman73 Give it another try.

The settlement reset via momentary supercruise has not changed. I've been using it off and on with my newest commander, and it has never failed to reset a settlement. The problem is you've chosen systems that are full of bugs, and I don't just mean Thargoids.

Regardless, complaining because a glitch isn't working makes zero sense.

Because it was removed.

Relog farming was never an intended mechanic.

There are some few exceptions that have been allowed to stay.

Find a system with multiple offline settlements and you will get to see more while building experience.

Elite is one of the few games where you can build your skills while playing AND having fun.

Choosing to grind in order to not have fun is a bit backwards imo, but maybe that's just me. :D

To help even further: it is possible to go "treasure hunting" on outposts and stations not only near the fringe but also in the bubble; i have just 1 weapon at G2 with rest of both weapons and suits being G3 with both single and multiple mods. I've not done one piece of engineering although i did upgrade two suits and two weapons from G2 to G3.
(edit: pioneer supplier inventory updates every thursday after maintenance, so finding a system with four or more stations at that time can be a boon. Can use Apex taxi)

Also, you can check the "Sharing is caring" as well as the "Odyssey material trading" threads here on the forum.

cheers

Why OP cant just find nice anarchy settlement somewhere in bubble, bring some suppressed weapons using some small ship that has dumbfires (to deal with anyone who would dare to prevent looting) and loot any materials until done all desired G5? There is no any penalty to do it (means you can kill all, heck, you can be allied even to said fraction, and there is no rep loss, they simply wont care), and is guaranteed to have materials respawn each time when new instance is created, wich is done by simply going back to orbit and coming right back to settlement... and if someone find such "reseting" settlement after leaving it dead, is breaking thier immersive too much, they can always hop from one settlement to another, but in end is same thing and just takes more time, but who I am to judge thier "fun".

There is only merits from it... merc rank will rose up if racking kills, and you might learn thing or two about guard/workers npcs behavior and especially thier spawn locations/patrol routes per each type of settlement, wich might it be helpfull later when doing some missions, as these are fixed per each type of settlement layout. I mean, by time you raid same settlement by 37th time, you should already knew each guard and worker location, so looting will be more efficent.

And right, before anyone comes out shouting "but thats killing innocents is no good bruh" they should realize that about 60% to 70% of anarchy settlement npcs are actually wanted after scan, so its not like murdering innocents. Anarchy settlements have highest ratio of wanted npcs of all of them. Makes kinda sense for anarchy fraction settlement being run by actuall criminals, in end.

Recovery missions are a different gameplay though, so it makes sense to want to do those vs rinse and repeat anarchy attacks.

I suspect that the OP believes that the way he wants to do his gathering is the quickest route to being able to start upgrading and modding.
