Hurm....well it is not an ore that I know of. So may be Red Crystal is a special commodity. How much time is on the mission timer? If it is a lot, start searching the stations in the system or in neighboring stations. You may find it in one of them.

It wasn't a miss it was one of them unidentified signal source it was a type 9 trader called the mineral magpie when approached him popped up in the comms looking for red crystals local system does not have them

Get yourself a cargo scanner, give it a blast and see what he has on board (for the rest of us)... then post up here to tell us what on earth it is.

Not in game (or anywhere near a Commodities Market) at the moment, but the "red crystal" will be a description of (probably) one of the Minerals - you need to check the detailed commodity description. I saw one a while ago asking for "cha" - probably only a Brit or someone from Asia would get that they were looking for Tea.
