This is not a real-universe star - it's been procedurally generated. Meaning there is no real-world equivalent of this star in that location int he real-world universe. This means there's a reason why the Stellar Forge had to do this to this particular star.
This star is close enough to Sol that, if it were a full red giant size, it would be easily visible as a bright red star in the night skies of Earth. But the ED galaxy is designed such that the skybox of Sol system should looks identical to the actual night skies of 20th century Earth - no missing stars, and no extra stars.
That "no extra stars" part means that they've had to add a section to the algorithm, to shrink and diminish any procedurally-generated bright stars.
They did make a slight error in designing the gaalxy this way, though. They almost certainly meant to box off a small area of space around Sol to apply the giant-shrinking algorithm. But what they actually applied it to was the entire X-co-ordinate OR Y-co-ordinate of Sol, the entire galaxy. Meaning that if you plot, for example, procedurally generated B and O stars (Which can be seen from several hundred LYs away), you'll find a big cross-shaped void, with the centre of the cross squarely on Sol:
I'm pretty sure that "OR" was supposed to be an "AND". Too late to fix it now, though.
