RedAlert!!!

Ah memories - "Set condition one throughout the ship..."

I think condition one/two/three is more appropriate for Elite than red/yellow/green alert. Star Trek generally assumes a state of peace before hostility, Elite and BSG assume the opposite. I'd like if the alerts had a function, like setting your ship to a combat or defensive configuration like the guys with voice attack macros. That's the only way they'd make sense on single-crew ships.

Condition three: Navigation shields up (2 pips to sys, 4 eng), hardpoints retracted, non-essential systems online. (Starport travel)
Condition two: Combat shields up (4 sys, 2 eng), hardpoints retracted, non-essential systems (except FSD) offline. (Hostile encounter you wish to retreat from)
Condition one: Shields up, hardpoints deployed, pips to preferred combat profile, non-essential systems offline. (Hostile encounter you intend to fight)

This is why I enjoy voice attack so much, I have as much fun programming the ships computer as I do playing the game.

My Anaconda has a battle profile, I can steer the ship by voice (including combat maneuvers) And issue Red Alert & Yellow alert commands, even have an emergency jump command, the ship dumps chaff and heat, diverts power to shileds and charges the FSD.

Very Geeky :) but lot's of fun..

Vid is jerky due to the recording software

Only if we have to change a light bulb.

Funny enough, I have a Hue lightbulb in my office, and I set it to a deep orange when I play so as to match the color of the HUD. Would love a Hue app / plugin that changed the light to reflect what's going on outside (e.g., type / color of star, getting darker when turning away from the star etc.)
