In case anybody here is trying to redeem their free Anaconda skin and use the Steam version of the game, do not do it via https://www.frontierstore.net/customer/accountpage/ as one might expect, the Frontier store wont see the code as valid.
You need to access https://digitalstore.elitedangerous.com which is the Steam specific variant of the store for Elite Dangerous, and use the Redeem Frontier Code link at the top. You can also access this page in the livery screen in game and click the "Buy game extras" button.
