Redirects..

So I managed to get annoyed by some other stuff today, this time the "Redirects" , you know the ones that pop 30 seconds before you about to land...
Yo plan a route with several drops, and one of these pops up  , you cant reject it and the "Extra" reward is not only measly, it is a spit in the face. Surely this game feature, has only been implemented to actually really annoy Cmdr's. It in cohesion with game generally, bears no resemblance to RL.
"I have your goods, you redirect, you pay my price or no redirect, delivery as agreed."
They are just annoying, thats all, but why, but why FD, is this a cruel developer intern joke " Lets see, how many hoops we can make 'em go through, he he "
Well at least you only get redirected once on a single mission..... yet.

Cheers Cmdr's

Don't like it? Just sell the cargo on the markets, no need to be melodramatic about it.

And fail the mission, lose rep with the faction, and make less money than the original contract.

I completely agree with the OP, this mecanic is really anoying since you can't opt out and deliver as was originaly planned.

redirects get optional in 2.3. can't wait to decline them, instead of aborting missions (which is what i do now. i should set up a macro ... get redirect, abort mission).

reply like yours is just as depressing and annoying as mission redirects.
too bad 2.3 doesnt come with an option to filter people like you out of the forums aswell.

edit : but im very pleased they are fixing this issue in 2.3

Either you've never ordered anything that is then delivered by courier in your entire life, or you're ignoring how it actually works in RL to suit your whine.

The customer and the retailer have all the power to change delivery time, instructions and even location at any point if desired.... what is assumed however is that a change of such information will almost certainly lead to delays in delivery.

For many retailers they don't expose the means to change delivery information by the customer once the item has reached a specific dispatch state... though if contacted the retailer does have and can be convinced to exercise their ability to change delivery details even when a package has left the dispatch office to be immediately delivered to the customer (Though most will generally try to fob you off saying it can't be done, this is generally never true but rather it's just standard policy to not do so unless given the nod by someone above).

But you certainly never have a courier hold packages for ransom because the recipient of a package won't be in and has requested a new delivery attempt at a secondary/back-up address the following day instead of the initial delivery plans. And if they want to continue to have a job and get paid, they sure as heck wouldn't refuse a change in delivery details and just dump it wherever was first stated.

Well, well we are now comparing "retail" parcel deliveries with big scale bulk deliveries, Ok I must have missed this through my whole professional real life. The sarcasm is thick here.
I can assure you that a change of destination, will incur a increased cost by the courier, based on their tariffs, concerning either country, distance and security situation.

Try to book a transport flight from Heathrow to Glasgow, and see what happens when you want it redirected to Kabul, :D you can pick up your crap in Glasgow and pay the bill!!
AND I dont whine :)

Whilst i agree with your options, i don't think the OP is being melodramatic at all, he has rather a good point to which FD should address.

Fixed in 2.3 I believe, you have option to reject the wrinkle and complete mission at original destination.

Yeah, and the similar glitch in passenger missions where you get offered a redirect which you cannot take or reject if you don't have a free cabin has also been fixed. :)

I think that pre-2.2 you could always accept or reject redirects. Not entirely sure who thought it would be a good idea to change it. [noob]

Hey now, i thought they only fixed it for passengers in 2.3?
you saying its fixed for cargo missions too ? yay!
