Seems to be. However, don't want to lead you up the garden path, so if the problem persists the work around described earlier in this thread is the best solution I have seen. Used it in the past with good results - the HDMI port holds the settings and greys are black in the Rift when it's plugged back in.

I found these settings ran like crap. I see no reason to increase both hmd and ss. Indeed, they seem o work at odds to each other. I run SS 1 and hmd 2. It looks better and runs smoothly.

Agree. Tried a number of combo's with SS and HMD over the weekend. SS 1 and HMD at 2 does give good results. Can be a little taxing, but very manageable with other settings tweaked. Thanks
