The fact that it works as intended doesn't mean that it's intended purpose makes sense. As it was pointed out - on outposts it actually isn't needed as it directs you in a wrong way facing the structures.

The only one I hate is on outposts. You know, the one that makes you face a building when you exit? It reminds me why I love large-pad ships. No dealing with oddities such as that. Lol

As it is now, all docking platforms work the same way, regardless of what kind of station it is. To make the change you seek new coding would be required, and I think there are more important things to fix in the game than giving you a few seconds shorter time on your departure. That's why it's a pointless idea, imho.

Remember that stupid platform thing in front of you that had to lower before you could take off? It didn't take long but because it was unnecessary it was agonizingly slow and annoying. They removed it I see now that I'm back
