The Artemis Biological Survey is the first organised expedition in partnership with Vista Genomics whose main objective is to identify, analyse and understand as many exobiological species as possible in the galaxy. We don't expect to be able to reference them all on this one expedition, however, we intend to have the most exhaustive references possible. These will be supplemented during later trips into the galaxy by other explorers in the months and years to come.
To collect these data we use the S.I.C.R.E.B.O.G. set up system (System for Information, Collection and REferencing of Biological, Organic and Geological samples). It is only for our own expedition use (Artemis Biological Survey) to allow our participants to have real time information about only what is discovered by the expedition (and not all commanders across the galaxy).
But we also use a herbarium, the data are presented by genus, then by species with their coloured variants. Exobiological Flora includes sample sales prices to Vista Genomics (were obtained via the CMDRs data, and completed / verified using the excellent Cannon list).
How do we proceed?
The expedition advances to specific waypoints in which the exobiologists can either study in the area for several or study all the way between the two waypoints. Pilots scan and explore all planets with specific characteristics dedicated to hosting exobiological flora. Then, when they find a form of life, they bring back the data following a very precise methodology through a specific room dedicated on DSN discord.
Methodology.
It's really quite simple, we ask the exobiologists to follow the following procedure:
For exemple:
The verification team led by CMDR Alistair Hope then reintegrates the collected data into the herbarium, which you can consult at this address: DSN Exobiological Flora.
We have already been able to find a very large number of different genus and species. The expedition has only just begun. Work are in progress.
Cheers.
