Newcomer / Intro Refueling while rout is plotted?

So, i dont have a fuel scoop yet, and lets say ive plotted a rout in the galaxy map that forces me to refuel at least once.

So with my rout plotted, i jump, jump, jump, uh oh i better refuel before my next jump, so i go into the left menu, lock on the nearest station. I dock, refuel, launch, and im back on my way...but wait...? My rout is no longer plotted?! now i have to either remember the name of the system i was going to, or search the galaxy map for it again. both are extremely annoying considering the names of some of the systems. Why cant the rout just stay plotted when youre locking on to other things within a system? What if i wanted to pit stop at a RES half way through my travel? It makes plotting routs very annoying.

Use the "Target Next System in Route" in your Control Options. May need a key mapping to it, I use "R" as it was previously Silent Running, and I dont want to do that accidentally.

You should also see a "route icon" on the next system in the route of your nav menu. Just double click on that and you will be back on course.
Hotkey is faster though.

Also: get a fuel scoop so you don't need to find any stations to refuel and can just skim it out of the coronas of stars

oh more options i didnt know about because the tutorials are pretty bad and theres absolutely no mention of them anywhere except that huge list of key bindings. Awesome.

Once again the forum comes to my rescue. Thanks CMDRs

Its all a matter of personal choice, obviously. I have Next System bound to N, with M as the Galaxy Map and, B as the System Map.
