regarding Download Elite: Dangerous Single Player Combat Training Demo

I'm not quite sure where best to ask my question so I'll put it here and if anybody knows the answer to either my question or where I would be better advised to put it - please do. Thanks.

I have a 17 year old grandson who is really into games and I thought I would gift ED to him. BUT - I am not sure if a) his computer and/or control system will perform well enough for the game, or b) if it is a game he will enjoy (or even understand since he is a "modern gamer"). So my thinking was that perhaps I could download the single player combat training demo to his machine and he could give it a go. This would quickly determine answers to both the questions.

So - can I do that? Can I go to his machine, log in as me and download it there? Or perhaps can I download it to a USB stick and then take it over to him and load it from that? Is it completely stand-alone - i.e., does it require that I, as in me not him, be logged in and connected to a server in my name to be able to play it? It wold be great if it is a completely stand-alone cut-down and specific version because then anybody could try it out and make a value decision.

thanks

My understanding is that he would have to login under your account to play it. There's no stand-alone demo, you have to at least buy the pre-order to get access to it.

I see - OK - thanks. I wonder if it would cause a problem for me if I let him play around on his machine under my login? One would think not, but it is entirely possible for FD to track ip's and they might notice and object if I have logins active on 2 different machines. Mmmm - tricky - what to do?
