General / Off-Topic Regarding "griefers" emotional reasoning behind attacks

If more serous I am saddened that people aren't that open to idea of having good, compelling PvE world with PvP elements - from both sides. One side insisting on "I want to see players, want to melt their faces" and another is "that's it I am playing solo".

It's brought me right down too. If both camps could just flex a bit towards each other, the result would be fantastic. But everyone has to have it exactly their own way, or nothing.

Love Cracked, btw.

A little bit offtopic, but couldn't laugh knowin context of regular discussions about subject here on forums

PvE and PvP people will NEVER.. i repeat NEVER agree.. its a fact of life.. if it were to happen the balance of the universe would shift.. up would become down.. black would become white.. and i should stop quoting "dogma" :D

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
the PvP/PvE debate is just as strong and intense over at Star Citizen as well. It's just a.....a thing I guess. :D

Thankfully there are options in-game to allow each type players to group up as they see fit.

It does make me a bit concerned that the All Group will end up being a place that neither group particularly enjoy....

Awesome cynical quote!

"Games are a market place for frustration and petty vengeance"

... and that's when the death penalty only requires you kill a few mobs to get back into a Titan.

Quite, which is why a hard split is the way most games deal with it. Something innovative would be nice, if it works, but I suspect FD's solution will break down to the same thing, in effect, in the end - people unhappy with unwelcome PvP will go solo/private.

There will always be idiots on both side constantly drawing lines in the sand, we are all playing the same game tbh and a lot of us like PVE and PVP.
Best just ignore those that want to force their backwards way of thinking onto other players.

I wonder who's fault that would be? Those who want to kill or those that are against being killed?

Those who want to kill?

Ganking ships outside stations when they can't defend themselves - perhaps thats griefing.

Yet as far as I'm concerned any other form of blowing up shiny pixels is legitimate. If I was to blow up your ship and take your cargo which you had put a lot of money into, in what you may define as a 'legit' way, would you put me on the ignore list?

I wouldn't, but you'd be a lot better off letting me live if you want to keep your access to the benefits that come with good pirate faction reputation. They're not keen on murder. You might not care about that but your competitors will.

Even so, I'd chalk it up as one of those things and crack on with my game.

That, my friend, would be the fault of people who cannot distinguish reality from a game and who take their first world hi-tech entertainment far, far too seriously.

I would ,as all you want is the fun of killing me, Zero roleplay .I would self destruct rather than let you have anything .I hope you enjoy your solitary life :)

Separating solo online and full online wont really work. If forced to choose I think most would end up going solo or private groups, so the all group would die off. The system as it is now works well, they should stick with it.

Or ends up with everyone in sidewinders and pulse lasers because no-one can earn any cash without it being forcibly removed from their wallet... :D

The logical result of that would not be everyone being in sidewinders. Rather the week noob players with no friends will be flying sidewinders. The veteran pirates and their friends will be flying wings of fully outfitted cobras.

If we could just get Chris and David to combine their games and divide the galaxy into separate factions, ED/SC, it would fix itself. We'd all have each other to kill and flame and hate outside "our" game. Problem solved.

You mean like all those who keep demanding a hard PvE/PvP split because the game won't be hardcore enough without it?

:p

In case they get all emotional about it, sure. :)

Bottom line is, when you get worked up over a game, it's time to step back and reassess your priorities. That goes for anyone, regardless of why they got upset.
