Salutations from Sunny Greece, hope this is in the right section.
Could someone please explain this to me?
From what I understand, FD wants to put planet landing and exploration in a little after the game is gold (as a first priority expansion). Does that mean that there will not be any starports in celestial bodies at launch? If that is true, you will only be able to land at orbital stations/cities when the game launchers.
Here is the question. In Frontier and FFE, starports made up a rather significant part of the number of possible docking locations in the game. I remember that in the Sol, Achenar or Alioth systems for example, the number of starports was a lot more than orbital stations/cities.
How will their later inclusion change lore, economy and dynamic content generation in the game? It looks like a very hard undertaking..Balancing a dynamic economy (or a lot of other mechanics) when you suddenly have to add at least twice as many generating entities is going to be hard. Really hard.
I certainly think FD have a good strategy for that, but I'm really curious to see how it could be implemented without having to resort in gating the full/potential feature set before the expansion comes.
Any and every feedback would be vastly appreciated, cheers..C:
