Regarding Terra Velasquez

I just received another email from FDev support which sheds some more light on the whole issue. Here, I hope it helps anyone:

Hey CMDR,

Thanks for getting back in touch in regards to Terra Velasquez.

I've managed to obtain some official confirmation from our internal QA team so please let me explain further.

The intended requirements for unlocking Terra Velasquez:
You do either 6 Covert heist missions or 6 covert Theft missions. (So you only need to do 6 of either)

However, currently there is a bug that is preventing the covert theft mission from tracking correctly. Our QA team has been made ware of this and the matter is under investigation.

In regards to your situation, your 6x covert heist missions counted correctly. However, our database did not update in real time to reflect the change and after completing another covert theft mission, the database updated. This was purely coincidental.

Rest assured, a fix is being worked on and we hope to deploy a fix for this soon!

I hope this clarified the unlocking requirements further.

Do send us a new ticket if you have any other questions.

I was in contact with FDev Support as well about the same issue. There seems to be a problem with that only specific mission types work, and production heists are among those.

The requirement is to complete 6 total Covert Heist and/or Covert Theft On Foot missions. The reason I specified the production heist missions is because they're typically the easiest to spot and do, in my opinion, meaning you can report back as fast as possible and if they don't work, we can know ASAP. :)

I could see you had a progress of 4, which is why I asked for two. Only specific mission types worked, so I gave you one that definitely worked. I hope that answers your questions.

7 successful missions now completed, 6 yesterday, one this afternoon. I wonder if Terra will coincidentally unlock for me, or will FDEV unlock her at their end (tickets submitted and a specific request to unlock made yesterday and today respectively).

Were they covert production heist missions?
 
Poor Support, having to deal with people who can't do a few Heists ... they are heroes!
Well, if the requirements weren't bugged, it wouldn't be a problem. I've done 8 or so Covert Theft missions and 4 Covert Heists missions with no unlock, that's when I contacted FDev Support, and was advised to do two more covert production heists + a relog, which solved the immediate problem. Requirements are still bugged, though.
 
I've said it before, I'll say it again; ignore the covert thefts...they just don't work right for unlocking so you're wasting your time. When I unlocked her, I just did 6 covert heist missions and relogged after the 6th to take care of the DB sync issues. Once I logged back in, she was unlocked. Done.

As with just about every other aspect of Odyssey, FDEV clearly didn't test this well and just barfed up a barely functional, premature build to meet a corporate deadline. They now have so many things broken that they can barely get a handle on what is broken and why...especially since they still clearly don't play their own game enough to understand it. At least it sounds like support have finally figured this one out (though we've been saying it for weeks in the forums).

Edit: Besides, the covert heists are so much more fun anyway.

I only got 5 covert heists but 6 covert thefts done for Terra, and she sent me a message after the 6th theft.
Yes, that accepted theft near the top was completed, Inara was being weird when I took that image three days ago.

Not saying there isn't a problem, I've heard the same issue from other people as well, and I know full well that just cuz I didn't experience the issues don't mean it don't exist. It's inconsistent and needs fixed.

I did three each of thefts and heists, but cannot recall how many were production heists.

From what I gather from the reply from FDev Support, you should do a total of 6 covert production heists as they are the most reliable mission to count towards the engineer unlock requirements, and then relog.
 
I Did 2 covert missions yesterday and 5 today and I know I did a few weeks ago and still no invite. Is it still bugged?

I dunno, I did six covert heists and she unlocked.

I never got a message from her though, just went into the engineers panel on the right side and the requirement was checked so off I went.

Just make sure you keep track of each one and relog after the sixth to help kick the server sync. I understand that support is saying that the sync issues could take a few hours to resolve but, for me, it just took a relog.

Also, to help track the ones completed, you should see an entry of "event":"MissionCompleted" for "Name":"Mission_OnFoot_ProductionHeist_Covert_MB_name" pertaining to each one in your log files. I was extra paranoid and copied each entry with timestamp into notepad++ as I completed them. If you don't know where your log files are, they are in "%userprofile%\Saved Games\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous" and they are named with the format of "Journal.%DateTime%.01.log". Note that that "01" might be a variable but out of the thousands of logs in my directory, all of them are "01".

Inara says I've completed 3 successfully. Inara gets it's info from FDs servers, probably the same log file though.
I know for a fact two of them went pear shaped but didn't fail when they perhaps should have.

Currently multi tasking with 2 accounts and it's occurred to me that shared missions might count for both CMDRs, havent tried one yet, they seem to be harder to find than support missions for me at the moment.

Just done two without a hitch and initial impressions are that it only counts for the one who took the mission, unless there's a delay registering it...
