I'd like to remind PvP enthusiasts that PvP is, in fact, possible in PG. Objectively speaking, there is zero difference between PG & Open. :)

Yup. Had some 'master class' clown in a Cutter kill my SLF and then come after me in a haz res site related to the current CG/bounty hunt. I thought it was a mistake at first, so boosted away, but the idiot chased me so I figured it was intentional. I even let them ram me (I boosted right at them at the last moment) as an experiment to see how my shields would hold up. Barely dimmed the first ring. Decided to leave and swear off doing any more 'community' crap. What a clown. This is the Great Experience?? Wow, you multi-player folks need to get out more often.

This was in Mobius_PvE. Yet another bolster to my belief that I don't need or want other people in my game. Those folks who need/want this interaction are welcome to each other, and will do fine without me. :)

Two things...

Was your SLF first to engage the other player? That happened to me before. I engaged another player's SLF after it had attacked me and turned red in my scanner. Only then did I realise it was a CMDR (NPC) SLF. So I disengaged. Boosted away. I hailed the other CMDR who was also red on scanner and flying a Corvette. Gulp. The SLF kept attacking and I felt I had no choice but to destroy it. This occurred in Mobius too. I realised that I had a good chance of being reported and kicked out. I stayed to chat with the Corvette CMDR and apologised for SLF destruction saying that it attacked me first. He was very chill about the whole thing. Realised that he now had a bounty because his SLF had attacked me first. We winged up and now on friends list. The moral here is that it might've been your SLF that messed up.

Second thing is that the Cutter guy might've thought you deliberately attacked him, despite it probably being a mistake by your SLF?

There are still little glitches in the game. I'd chalk it up to experience. I'd stay in Mobius. If it'd happened without the SLF, I'd have reported him and got him booted from Mobius, but with the SLF involved the reason for the engagement is probably undecipherable by both parties.

I'd just stick with Mobius. This stuff does happen accidentally. Bear with it.

Merry Christmas

Hey Mark,

The scenario you describe is entirely possible, as I was targeting (not shooting) all manner of ships (some were players...oops) trying to find a NPC that I could fire at. Like I said, next thing I know I get this warning that I'm taking fire, and that my SLF was gone. That is why I boosted away in an attempt to disarm the situation. There were no comms. When the Cutter followed and rammed me, I figured that I'd take the high road and just low wake out. ;)

Other than the slight dimming of the first ring of my shields, and the loss of my SLF, there was no damage. I honestly was tempted though, as the pilot of that Cutter wasn't very good. I could have parked on that things tail all day, and just fired away. It would have been another 'experiment' to see if a modestly engineered Corvette could take a Cutter. ;)

EDIT: And Merry Christmas everyone! :D
