Regime Change - I give up

Spent a week trying to boost Dark Wheel up so they will expand, missions is about the only way to do it as they hardly ever issue bounties and have no station :
Get it up from 6% to 20%, then a 1.3 patch resets it
Get it back up to 22% last night, this morning it is back to 6%

I give up. Running out of fun things to do.

There are strange things happening since 1.3 with the influence of the minor factions. The controlling minor faction in the system I'm in dropped 50% in 24 h after 1.3. Reset to normal after 1.3.1 and now it is falling 10% every 24 h.

It could be players that work against that faction, but it looks strange because one of the other factions got 10% increase at the first day and then an other faction got 10% increase the next day. Looks to me like there is a bug in the influence BGS.

I hope that FD fixes this as fast as possible - if it's a bug.

Yes, the background sim is a bit drunk.

Shinrarta Dezhra "coup" was tried several times, always failed- i guess that the system is locked as controlled by PF. I bet its the same for DW expansion: i have heard rumors that the faction will play a huge role in the story later and its hand steered by the devs.

Does trading give more influence than doing missions? I do a lot of medium influence missions and see no result in doing so. (Other system than OP).

Wouldn't know how to compare it, but in an hour you could move 2.5K units in and 2.5K units out at a fair profit. And there could be a lot of people doing that, vs very few doing the Dark Wheel missions...

It's ok. Civilization is weird. The black is calling...

Yep, I know how you feel. Spent most of last week working a faction to 97%. Then they reset influence with 1.3.1. Shrugged and resumed my efforts - despite being the only player in the system and doing nearly every mission for my faction, yesterday I logged in to find the opposing faction at 99%. <facepalm> Now there aren't even any missions to do from the faction I was supporting. <sigh>

I think you are right about DW having some role in the story. They are already dealing with the SAP 8 Core.
There seems to be some minor factions that are "special":
Dark Weel
Pilots Federation
Sirius Corporation
Reynhard InteliSys
Worldcraft

There are probably more. Setting two of these up against each other will probably not work in the same way as standard minor factions.

Pilot Fed seem to work as a normal faction, they have expanded out of Founders. I was just trying to get Dark Wheel to do the same, Pilots are welcome to Founders.
It isnt a fanstastic trading spot that I have noticed, but I guess some lazy explorers might have just dumped their data there. Retirement does make you lax

Mining in a Python seems fun for the moment while I cool down.

Sirius Corporation is the faction you need to work with to unlock the Sirius System Permit. I don't think there is more to it than access to the system.

I only found one system with the Worldcraft faction, and it was a system with a war between Worldcraft and Camorra of Epsilon Eridani. I went allied with Worldcraft thinking it would unlock something special but it did not. Maybe an easter egg, only there to enable the War of Worldcraft

You guys should keep reporting those oddities in the Bug Reporting Section; I didn't see a lot of reports in there - just keep bringing the matter to the devs.
