Regions Stars and counterattacks

Right now when you take all the ground in a battle for a region that has stars left you start again from your own lines. Instead of being able to at least try to defend against a counterattack your men just "go back".

Id like to see the star system re-done, maybe have them work as counterattack stars each one giving the defender a chance to push a attacker that took ground back out. To be more specific:
Lets say you take a point and the command trench in a three star region. The defender then can start three counterattacks from his backlines to throw you back to your own lines. Each turn he manages to hold all points the region regains a star.

That would make a lot of sense. At present the star system feels rather off, especially in an RTS where you can seize the command trench.

a temporary fix I'd be reasonably happy with is if a "sweep" took away more than one star. As it stands it's a lot of effort requiring a lot of skill for a very hollow reward of trying again next turn.

Yeah, you'd need to balance major vic. Or have some weighted score req, depending in how often a map was successfully defended.
But now it seems to works as advertised in release.
