relationship required ?

Hey all,, Just getting back into things after an absence. Multiple reasons and only a few are good ones.

I am finding missions on the board that are asking for a relationship required status. I am not sure if i understand this as i can accept it even though I do not have that status currently. Would someone be kind enough to explain what this may be and what I should now be looking for on the board?

Sorry if this is repetitive but the forums search has been useless so far.

It's a scale - so if you're friendly already, you can accept missions requiring unfriendly or neutral, for example.

lol no you boost your relationship doing missions for them or simply trading (i don't know how it works i don't know if making more profit or simply carrying hundreds of tons of cargo is more effective)
you lose it by attacking said faction as well as doing illegal things like smuggling
