RELAX

I'm starting this thread for one purpose: I want to find relaxing games.

Yes, games are great when they get your blood pumping, your adrenaline flowing, and your attention rapt, as you experience for example the thrill of outrunning an interdiction or shooting down your opponent in the case of Elite: Dangerous. And while I enjoy and appreciate those games (hence why I play Elite: Dangerous), I'm not always up for making my blood boil with excitement. Sometimes I need the opposite, games that make me feel all chill, Zen, etc. After all, I find I'm better in action games and ones like Elite: Dangerous when I have a calm state of mind. ;)

So, that being said, I'm looking for recommendations of relaxing games. Games that can make you feel good in a way that calms you as opposed to energize you. I want to chill so I can get back into action games swinging!

I'd prefer if people listed PC titles here. I do have consoles, but not an Xbox One or PS4. I'm focusing on PC because I have a new(ish) one that can handle the latest and greatest (at least as far as I know).

I've been advertising The Vanishing of Ethan Carter a few times now but it's such an amazing experience.
No guns.
No heart pumping adrenaline.
Just a thick atmosphere and a very relaxed gameplay.
The visuals are truly stunning and brings this short adventure to life.
It's also one of very very few games to use photogrammetry technique.

This is being ported to PS4 now using the Unreal Engine 4. Original was made with UE3. And a UE4 version is also being released on PC in September.

Despite 4-5 hours long, Ethan Carter is amazeballs.

I always found 'Starbound' relaxing, the music probably helps.

but pottering around on your planet, maybe building a house or planting crops can be very relaxing :)

The Tale of Two Brothes - an arcade/puzzle game for 1 or 2 players.
Audiosurf and Audiosurf 2 - a game where you drive a vehicle on a track that's designed based on the music you play as a soundtrack for it (you can use your own mp3's). If you have calm, relaxing music, it's a great experience.

And the king of them all:

OSMOS. Seriously, if you;re looking for a relaxing game, Osmos is your top choice. Check it out. You can get it for mobile phones too, but the original PC version is the best IMO.

Im a little curious about this game. It looks kinda like if Skyrim and Witcher 3 had a cell shaded child together. ^^

I strongly recommend it. It has a very nostalgic and fairy-tale kind of feel to it and it's very atmospheric. My other half does't find video gaming amusing or enjoyable (quiote the opposite actually, she finds it somewhat of a waste of time ;) ), but this was one of a few games she's actually played with me from start to finish (you can play in 2 player coop) and she's enjoyed it greatly.

Never Alone was another one she's really enjoyed. I actually can't recommend this one enough! It's another 2 player calm-ish coop arcade game, but it's very special. It was made by Inuit people (Eskimos basically - or if that's not the case, please excuse my ignorance), it's based on their legends and myths and it has a GREAT educational aspect to it as well as beautiful graphics. If you want to introduce your kids to gaming, this is definitely one of the games you should look at.
