Release Legacy Horizons as a free game

I have been having fun in Legacy Horizons these past few days. It seems to me that since it isn't going to be drawing developer time any more, why not release it as a free game and thus perhaps provide a "carrot" to draw-in some new players to Live / EDO. FDEV can still make money from it via ARXes sales as well.

All it needs, inside the game that is, is to fix the station services not being displayed (listed) in system maps, everything else is hunky-dory (you can even see outcrops and meteorites beyond 100m ).

They could even go so far as to add locked Odyssey features, and mark them as "requires Odyssey". Some players would ignore them, some would buy Odyssey. Sales would go up regardless. Set Legacy to be a very large free demo

I hope im wrong for some peoples sake but i think its more likely Horizons days are numbered.
Why continue to do anything at all with it?
They will probably want to spend time on future development not old content.

But who knows

I think there may be room for a free to play starter system in 4.0, but not giving 3.8 entirely away for free. I can't see that being beneficial for the future of the game at all.
