Release of 1.5

Now that the beta has finished for 1.5, and all attention is on the Horizons beta, I'm wondering when 1.5 will actually be released...
Could it be as early as next week?
Anyone have any idea?

My understanding is that 1.5 and 2.0 will both release at the same time later this month.

you would think they would let us have 1.5 a bit earlier than horizons,at least let us get our new ships before it drops

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks it's odd that they are releasing both betas at the same time, just don't make sense to me.

Continuing the theme of what’s coming next after the CQC Championship update. The big release is Elite Dangerous: Horizons, but we also have the 1.5 “Ships” release for season 1 as well. This is planned for release at the same time as Horizons – the ships will be there for all, both season 1 and season 2, but of course Season 2 players will get a lot more, including Planetary Landings, so there’ll be something for everyone on the same day. This will bring the total to 30 ships (plus the Cobra Mk IV) available in game.

The 1.5 beta hasn't finished though. Both the 1.5 and 2.0 beta's are running concurrently right now.

This. 1.5 and 2.0 are both in the same beta build atm. Both are going through some testing and we will get both at the same time somewhere this month. Hopefully before xmas

I, for one, can't abide this awful terminology. If you mean the xmas period, say that. If you mean December, say that.

Ask anyone who's grown up in this country when 'the holidays' are, and they'll think end of July & August.

1.5 needs to be able to run alongside 2.0 since players in 1.5 can still meet players in 2.0. There is plenty of testing that needs to be done to make sure these to versions of the game works nicely together. That is why these two are still in Beta testing together and why they will be released at the same time.

In other words...the beta stage for 1.5 is still very much in progress.

They need to test that there systems can cope with the player base being on different versions of the game and still remain stable. An that these can all be separately upgraded as and when necessary.

Exactly, everyone thinks the new kids on the block (America) terminology should apply to England. Holidays is SUMMER, Festive season is Christmas!!!!
