As a PS4 owner I have long accepted never being able to own a C4.
The ship was offered as an incentive/thank you to those who supported this game in its infancy/terrible toddler phase.
At that time I had been out of the gaming scene for years and had no idea the Elite series had been resurrected. I hadn't bought a copy of PCG in years.
Despite having spent money on the original Elite in the 1980s, two copies of Frontier Elite at full price (the first was lost/stolen in the post and never refunded) and FFE, I don't begrudge the exclusivity of the C4 to those whose patronaged helped get ED to this stage.
Original Elite was a pivotal part of my late teens. I spent more time on it than chasing girls. (And I think I may have enjoyed it more, too....) and, strange as it may sound, I am appreciative that I can once again immerse myself in that universe.
So, to my mind, I'd like to say a 'thank you' to the kickstarters and early adopters whose financial contributions kept ED alive. You guys earned the C4. I didn't.
And you know what? It doesn't matter to me that the C4 is out of reach.
Plenty of other ships to choose from....
