Remaining Three Pack ideas

Hopefully we get more than this, into 2024, but some ideas I have for the three remaining packs for the year and the game's official support.

Q2 - Aviaries - as unlikely as it is, this is the only thought to what can provide the game something of a less unbalanced (rather than balanced) offering of birds. By having 4 different exhibit birds, non-walk through I'd think, that could possibly free up enough resources to give us two species of each. There's absolutely no evidence or history this would happen, but I'm putting it out there anyways.
Secretary Bird
Shoebill Stork
Northern Brown Kiwi
Mute Swan
Exhibit - Macaws x 2 (Scarlet and Hyacinth Macaws)
Exhibit - Owls x 2 (Snowy and Barn Owl)
Exhibit - Cockatoos x 2(Sulphur Crested and Major Mitchell's Cockatoos)
Exhibit - Hornbills x2 (Rhinoceros and Great Hornbills)

Q3 - Woodlands Animal Pack (Temperate/Taiga animals) - Bavarian or Log Cabin styled scenery set
Tasmanian Devil
Wolverine
Wild Boar
Spectacled Bear
Exhibit: - Eagles x2 (Bald and Golden Eagles - if it can only be one, definitely the Bald Eagle

Anniversary animals - standard exhibit Cobra and Chameleon species

Q4 - Finale Wrap Up Pack, which I do hope they'll do for the last pack.
Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo
Crested/Cape Porcupine
Somali Wild Donkey
Arctic Hare
Black Howler Monkey
Squirrel Monkey
Patagonian Mara
Exhibit - Toucans x2 (Toco and Keel Billed Toucans)

That gives us a total of 15 more habitat spots, 2 Standard Exhibit animals, and 6 types of exhibit birds for a total of 12 species. Sigh. It's not enough. I don't want this game to end this year. I really want another year of content, or at least half way through 2024. but truthfully, taking out the Avain pack's set up, we're looking at likely 18/19 habitat species left, depending on an anniversary animal.

I hate to harp on this, but those numbers wouldn't be so overwhelming if we had more of new world monkeys and habitat birds. But I had to shove in 4 of the birds and 2 of the New World Monkeys and it still feels like shorting them. But with the rest of the list my heart is set on hoping these are the habitat animals we see. I know it won't be 100%, certainly, but hopefully most of them. As for the doubling up on exhibit animals, thats probably not going to happen but I still want to hope.

So many favorites not getting in and so many recently added to favorites to not get in. Sorry my Brazilian Porcupine and Sulwesi Bear Cuscus, it simply was too late in the game (literally) to hold on to a chance of you actually making it in. Perhaps if we had another year....at least for the Brazilian Porcupine.

I just Hope you can do the list again in one year 😀. Honestly my list would look very different but we all have personal preferences and I think especially regarding an end of Support (which hopefully will not be the Case) this Shows even stronger.

Nice ideas 🤩
For the most I hope for the support to last until the middle of 2024 😉
There are still to much species I want to see and it’s impossible to wrap them up in only 3 packs.

I completely understand that. I took the minimal-essential animals I feel the game needs to have, at least with my personal spin on it. I struggled leaving some out and almost didn't get our third equine in! o_O

But what's funny is in another few days I'll have a completely different idea and still have no real idea what I really want to see/expect to see..the last three packs have really thrown me off speculation wise. Twlight pack and it's very non-exotic (for the most part) roster? Grasslands in December? A Tropical pack that's a scenery Pack?? It's all just so much off what I was thinking would happen.

I just know I really want birds in, that we need another handful of primates (mostly new world) and that I'm desperately hoping for my top five mammals (Wolverine/Old World Porcupine/Tasmanian Devil/Spectacled Bear/Tree Kangaroo). When you're potentially looking at around 15-20 habitat slots, and realizing that this already takes up 14-15 of them, there's not much room to shift things around. Honestly things like the Arctic Hare are a longshot being that it would be a new rig for it, easy enough to think a second lagomoroph if we'd gotten one with a Petting Zoo/Farm type pack, or getting two piggies in one year may be too though I really hope we do get another, for all. I'm trying to hold on to the Patagonian Mara but it's slowly becoming apparently that's definitely not a priority when you're talking about the number of slots left.

This is more what I want then what I could see actually happening. It is inspired partly by: JeryW, Baryonix83 etc... Also, assuming the game is only supported for a few more DLCs I'm hoping they're animal packs.

  • Thorny Devil (E)
Fall 2023

  • African Crowned Crane
  • Palm Civet
  • Short-beaked Echidna
  • Parrots (WE)

That's some very inspired and unique picks @synthetase !I For me it would be thinking way outside the box but I like it. A lot of surprise picks that would bring something unique to the game. (I know I said unique twice lol. I like it though!)

I know people are like "oh the next pack is summer and has to be summer themed like islands or drylands" but I would think it makes sense to release something with birds. Not sure if an aviary pack or s bird feature pack similar to how they did butterflies. My thinking behind this:

Birds are big sellers. Higher sales in the next pack equals good financial report for frontier and therefore a better chance of seeing continued support.

They can then also reuse rigs in our final two packs of the year, balancing out the bird roster and making those packs more attractive for causal players to buy.

This is ideally something I would like to see:

Summer 23:
Flight

Sugar glider
Ibis
Macaw
Toucan
Eagle
Bat
Small parrot
Duck or swan

Fall 23:

Island

Tassie devil
Walrus
Kiwi
Tanuki or an island reptile
Puffin, pelican, or other sea bird (penguin, booby, Galapagos finch, full, albatross, sea eagle, osprey - as
examples)
Island scenery decor

Winter 23:
Forests

Tree kangaroo
Coati
Wolverine
Ocelot
Monkey - howler
Second monkey - spider
Porcupine
Bush dog or small earred dog
W/e small marmoset

Alright, I've decided to add in two more packs for 2024...I'm going to hope we get that, though I feel like chances are not as likely. I'm keeping the 2023 Q2 and Q3 Packs the same as in my initial post, but will be changing out some things with the last pack and with adding in two more packs.

Q4 2023 -Amazon Animal Pack (a final regional pack and if they do another one, I feel like it should definitely focus on South America, and Amazon by default)
Black Howler Monkey
Coatimundi
Ocelot
Squirrel Monkey
Bush Dog
Golden Lion Tamarin
Brazilian Porcupine
Toucans x2 (Toco and Keel Billed. Toco if only one allowed)

Q1 2024 - Petting Zoo Scenery Pack
European Rabbit
Nubian Goat
Shetland Pony
Alpaca
Exhibit - Lorikeet 5 set

Q2 2024 - Finale
Crested Porcupine
Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo
Arctic Hare
Somali Wild Donkey
Spider Monkey
Patagonian Mara
Collard Peccary
Exhibit: Two Toed Sloth (not sure on which species)

To me, looking at the Habitat animals, that's a total of 26 habitat animals, of which 12 are from South America, which sounds about right to me.

I’d imagine a lineup could go something like this:

Scrublands Animal Pack
(Summer 2023)
  • African Crested Porcupine
  • Hamadryas Baboon
  • Burrowing Owl
  • Patagonian Mara
  • Kirk’s Dik Dik
  • Blackbuck
  • Greater Rhea
  • Giant Golden Orb Weaver, Madagascan Orb Weaver (WE)

Woodlands Animal Pack
(Autumn 2023)
  • Tanuki
  • Eurasian Wild Boar
  • White Nosed Coati

  • Gelada
  • Spectacled Bear
  • Broad Tailed Hummingbird, Calliope Hummingbird, Black Chinned Hummingbird, Green Throated Mountaingem, Amethyst Throated Mountaingem (WE)

If we extend into 2024, I’d expect to see two more packs:

  • Rodrigues Flying Fox (WE)

Aviary Expansion Pack
(Summer 2024)
