If the kickstarter exceeds it's target and their are additional funds avaliable.

Would/Could Frontier update one of the originals Elite/FE/FFE?

Like Oolite and what the russian lads did with FFE etc..

Or maybe even finally finish off FFE?

It could be added to the E4 game as a bonus.

Being hopeful I know, but it would be nice :D

I can't give you an official answer on this, and I think it is far too early for me to get one for you. My initial feeling though, would be that any additional funding we made would be reinvested into improving Elite: Dangerous even further.

I'd back that! :)

Yeah, it makes more sense to make this game better than split the money to work on a different game. It seems like this is going to carry a lot of the elements we loved from the other games anyway, so this IS the update, right? I for one am looking forward to seeing it, and I'm sure some of the new additions and possibilities with new technology will only enhance it!

This I would prefer - extra money used for enhancing and tweaking the new game - more missions; more systems; more hi-res graphic skins; new sounds and music; more factions / governments; new story arcs; etc.

I like to now think of elite as an old man who is really only alive because he is strapped to a life support machine and all he wants to do is die. Let him die gracefully and use all that extra money to spoil the young kid that is just starting his life and is expected to do great things.

It's very sad when you look at it like that. :( But you're probably right - all funds would be better put towards making Elite: Dangerous as awesome as possible.

I feel likewise, but having Elite 2 & 3 tucked away as a hidden bonus on the physical copies (properly configured to work on modern operating systems, naturally) would be a brilliant bonus for those of us who prefer to own the physical copies.

I'd rather see more awesomeness for ED. There's always Pioneer for a modern FE2 re-make and something bubbling away over in Russia for FFE.

Um..........how about finally finishing the Amiga version of FFE? I will lend you my A4000 (with an 060 card) to dev it on :D

This is what many of us were thinking. "What if you exceed your target by quite a bit"...

More things to include in the package. If this ever happens I am hoping for a classic ELITE experience in packaging, manuals, charts etc. Things that as many wrote on other threads is a lost art. Too early to tell at the moment. I am sure Frontier will let us know what they will do once they know IF this all goes ahead and how much EXTRA they managed to secure. THEN they can let us all know their plans. Remember as backers on Kickstarter we will get emails on progress etc.

I know, I'm so old school.

NEVER. Elite will NEVER die. Many of us still play it today like Geraldine and myself. :)

I think perhaps what you mean is invest in the future and respect the classics and enjoy them for what they are but they will NEVER die. ;)

Well Elite D.. Would be my first Elite. Totaly dislike retro gaming.
So put all your fund in making E: D a much more polished and feature complete game.
