Ehmm..

i am so excited (and i just can't hide it).. reading the last newsletter i seen a date : december 6

But would someone explain me what exactly will happens tomorrow and then the next week ?

possible answers:

a) nothing of relevant, go back to sleep until next important date.
b) alpha is coming, stay alert
c) something else pre-alpha appointment, nothing of of really important will happens but keep an eye opened to see what's goin on..

d) fd will wait until i am back from travels and go alpha on the morning of the 16.12. 2013

seriously though, the new FD store will be going live. the alpha might well be offered via that platform. it be good to see but i do not think alpha will be starting tomorrow

obviously, happy to be proven wrong :D

I'd suppose that they would have warned us by now if the alpha were to start tomorrow.

I hope it will not, since it is our Independence Day and my family would not forgive me if I stayed at my computer, waiting for the game to download and then play it through the night... :p

If I understand correctly, the 6, the current store will be completed and the 9, the new store starts. In this new store, it will be possible to buy in rewards. But a reward will not allow have the previous rewards. I wonder if into the new store, the new people who buy will be considered as backers. Or the opportunity to be a backer stops the 6 at tonight ?

The new store certainly won't have the same range of items but as far as I know people who are buying early access to Godus (for half what the KS backers paid!) on steam are treated the same as KS backers. Now that's not to say that Frontier will do the same.

I might be wrong but I don't think Frontier will launch a new store and Alpha download at the same time because there's more than a passing chance that glitches will affect both. If I was a gambling man I would say new shop this week, Alpha next week based on nothing more than my extremely urgent desire to play Alpha!

It is quite clear that there won't be any announcement of alpha release date, it will just happen one day. I agree with theory that new e-shop highly likely will bring digital delivery system with it, so it is 9th December or little bit afterwards.

How are they going to test the store if no one is downloading anything from it? ;) Glitches will probably be there anyway, whenever they do it. That always happens when things like this go live.

Monday would be a really good day for me since my wife will be away from home for two days. :D:p

Afaik they said that shop will have preorder, so I guess FD will start to see them as customers. Still, their service has been quite good so far, I guess there won't be big difference. However FD won't have to manage additions to PBF/DDF, and their quite complex web of tier gifts for new users anymore, so they will have more time to manage community (not that there's huge need for now, but will be when huge influx of players will come to forums for answers).

Where did the 9th come from (I've seen a few people mention it)? In the newsletter it says the 6th.

on Friday December 6th the existing online Backers App will be frozen, as we are transitioning to a new ‘retail store’ framework that will eventually become the online portal through which you download the game. So we are calling ‘last orders’ on the Backers App, as not all rewards will be available in the new store.
