Remember, remember... the sixth of december

I'm Almost Ready.....

I just have to unbox my computer and set it up. Until then, I'm sitting at my old computer (Copying and Pasting from a Online Keyboard because the physical keyboard is busted. The l key completely missing and the other keys don't work without a lot of effort. I had no idea how much I need to type l until I lost it.) doing this right now while the battery to my Handy-Cam recharges at the power-point in my other room. Before I can film it the unboxing and setting up.

:D:cool::D

About to Start Uboxing Now.....

Dad reckons I should unbox and try out the speakers first. See if they work properly.

Where did the 9th come from (I've seen a few people mention it)? In the newsletter it says the 6th.

At the end of the Newsletter:

The online Backers App that has served us well this year will be retired on 6th December. A new store will take its place on 9th December, as we transition to preparation for the eventual ‘retail’ release of the game.

The new store is where we will get hold of the game in the different stages (alpha/beta/gamma/release). Since we now are in December and since this store is opened on the 9th it seems logical that Alpha will be released then (or in close proximity to that time).

So it looks like we are going to hit £2,100,000 today.

2100000 = 21 (who cares about zeros? :p )
21 = halfway to 42
42 = the meaning of life
the meaning of life = Elite: Dangerous!(?) :D:p

Alpha = "halfway to the game being ready"
"halfway to the game being ready" = 21 (see above!)
21 = 2100000

Therefore:

£2,100,000 = Alpha!!

So by my flawless logic Alpha will be released when we hit the £2,100,000 mark!!! :eek::eek:

I'd like to suggest an afternoon release for alpha. Monday morning is not my best time of the week.

Also, does anyone know how I can set my computer so incoming mails from Frontier make it go, Awooooooogaaaa! and set a red and blue light flashing?

Thanks

l = [+Alt] [1] [0] [8] [-Alt] (numbers on numeric keypad with NumLock on)
L = [+Alt] [7] [6] [-Alt]

Any ASCII code can be entered this way.

quicker than copy-pasting once you have the hang of it :)

Yes, I remember, but it is the 21st!

Some old groove (they just mixed up the months): http://youtu.be/Gs069dndIYk

"Do you remember the
21st night of December?
FD was changing the minds of pretenders
While chasing the clouds away

Our hearts were ringing
In the key that our souls were singing.
As we danced in the night,
Remember how the stars stole the night away

Ba de ya - say do you remember
Ba de ya - dancing in December
Ba de ya - never was a cloudy day"

It better bloody not start tomorrow, that's all I'm saying! I'm still in the process of building my new "office / study / den", so my gaming computer is in bits for the next few days at least. :eek:

I work tomorrow - so a Sunday start would fit just nicely.

I am thinking of Bolting Joystick down to something...

I was toying with the idea of making a big H- or U-shaped frame to attach the stick and throttle to, which would then bring them down and out toward/around my chair. I can then either floor-mount the frame or make a slot/clamp to bolt it temporarily to the desk.

I see a lot of arm fatigue if I play for extended periods with the stick and throttle on my desktop.
