Remember this?

Im angry.

Im tired of the little dregs complaining about the amount of time one must spend ranking up with the engineers.

Reality check. Although the system is somewhat broken (200 lavian brandys)

It is what it is. Shut up. The premise behind it it is sound. Neither you, nor me will have access to the engineers full capability this week or next week. With 30 engineers it will take you months or years of hard work to get to that stage of king of the bloody universe. Personally, im ok with that.

So... stop. Yes... there are things that will be corrected, im sure. But in the meantime...try and enjoy the game.

And remember something. A thargoid ship ( I was very deadly at the time) isn't a joke. It WILL kill you first time round. Why do you think FFD are providing you with all these tools?
BECAUSE YOU WILL NEED THEM.
My old tactic was to release the biggest bloody bomb I could find, and destroy the mothership. That way I could at least manage to collect some "tharglets"
Worth a fortune the were.

And then... I was faced with another problem. Getting back home. You see, in the old game, having an interdiction in hyperspace wasn't fun. (until I learnt to manually trigger it)
You could end up... absolutely nowhere. Between stars.

And I tell you this. There was no greater reward than managing to "coast" all the way to the nearest starport. - from so far away. Then using the planets own gravity assist to put you through the mailbox. THAT was the mark of an elite pilot. With NO fuel. You bunch of nancys try doing that. And...you know what... for me personally...that was the game. The game that I remember.

Now. Im sorry if I come across as a bit of a jerk. And maybe life has blured my memories. But that was this game for me.

You don't sound like a jerk, you sound like a granpa going "kids these days"

There are legitimate complaints about this game. For example, power play is (according to FDev themselves)

To sum up FDev on the Powerplay meeting:
Sorry folks, we (frontier) unfortunately maintained poor systems engineering methodology which left us with 'complicated code'. Attempting to fix stuff tends to have rather chaotic and unexpected results (funnily enough the player-base has told them this for only two years). We lack the funding/resources to hire/maintain professional programming practises. In short,     s complicated; stop complaining, you the player base needs to be more transparent and notify us when problems arise; since we (frontier) lack the ability to recognise issues as they occur ourselves.

On top of that there are other issues: the grind is free-to-play levels of bull     and even without mentioning the RNGneers there are basic MMO features (player interaction/trading, auction house; lack of station side storage space is EVEN MORE of an issue now that crafting is a thing) that have been missing since the beginning.

These complaints will unfortunately not stop until they are fixed or at least addressed.

I try to enjoy the game, but I'm finding it harder and harder to do so.

A major patch was released that many people are unhappy with. They have let it be known why they are unhappy with it along with many offering ways it could be improved. People paid for a work in progress...I mention this as it seems to have slipped your mind and become one of your "blured" memories.

People paid for much more from ED Horizons than has been released so far, so if they are unhappy with what they have seen, they are much more than within their rights to criticize what has come out from one of the major patches they paid for BEFORE it was even released.

if your quote is true, then there is absolutely no reason to expect their coding practices are any more professional for the rest of the game.

Suddenly the lack of bug-fixing and extreme nonsense makes sense.

FD never said PP is they just said it needs improvements

The issue is with the game is that for some reason everyone wants everything know this second
The point of elite is its a game were progress can take years and that is one of its features

Well it's not a quote, it's more of a cynical summary.

It is what it is. It's my dollar and my dollar speaks. If you like the way it is so much and don't like the complaining, then you should probably go do what you enjoy and stop visiting the forums.

My beef in mainly with the bewildering number of materials. Why not just have a couple for each type of upgrade and increase quantities. Also, that lottery system sucks. Just have fixed values and call it a day.
