Remember why I loved to fly the Eagle

With 1.2 cloes at hand and waiting for the FDL and Vulture to hit the shipyards I decided to spend a couple million on an old favourite, the Eagle, and head out to a conflict zone.

I forgot how great this ship is to fly. Boosting round ships and getting into firing position quicker than anything else I have flown since. The sound of the engines is awesome too, especially when boostong. For the price it is a great ship that I think everyone should go back to once in a while.

Just wait till you try the Vulture...

It handles and flies like an Eagle... But hits like Thor's Hammer, and can take a few good hits without batting an eyelid...

I have Played the beta and love the Vulture. The Eagle has something special about it for the price.

The way the engines scream when you hit the boost on an Eagle made me fall in love with it instantly. I just didn't like the placement of the lower guns. I plan on revisiting it when I'm more confident in my use of fixed weapons - gimballs on the lower two points and me just didn't get along.

+1 I Absolutely love hoping into my Eagle from time to time! Great ship and leads the whole credit grinding fetishism ad absurdum! :)

With the manoeuvrability of the Eagle, you should only use fixed placements on all the hard points really. Gimbals are a complete waste of time and can be disrupted by chaff, I just use the rapid turn rate and lateral thrusters to try and keep myself with the sharp end towards the target.

I currently have 2 x pulse lasers in my lower hps and a cannon in the roof, you can deal a pretty hefty hit with them!!
