Remote Flak targeting spiral bug

Looks like this has already been reported over a month ago;

Is there a workaround other then running back to the station for repairs? It's severly limiting my bug hunting and makes the AFMU pointless really.

Short answer is "no". Long answer is you technically can, as long as you keep fixing it every time it is damaged before using it again (yes, that is a hassle looking at the right panel so much). If it malfunctions it stays malfunctioning so repairing it to full every time it is damaged before firing is the only current foolproof method of avoiding that bug.
